sunset keeps shifting

ps do i leave cam plugged in whilst i reset button

oh flamin heck ... thanks all.
a sheet of a4 paper was in the nvr box with the password "changeme1!" hmmm , so ive changed it to same as cam & now cam works in nvr to the monitor AND the newly set pw now works in the internet explorer to access the nvr !!!

however it doesnt have exposure or profile management settings in it like direct to cam has so seems to access nvr via IE but not directly poking into the cams own menu , instead it just shows roughly what i see in the nvr

Maybe they admin blocked settings with that account?

And you are using Explorer to login to the NVR?

Using internet explorer now to access the nvr and it broadly seems similar to what I get in the nvr.

But I guess what I want is access to the cameras own more in depth menu

make all settings in the camera gui itself. NOT the NVR.

Yes there are some settings on the NVR that mirror the camera settings. But MANY more that are not. Don’t be tempted. If it can be set on the camera set it on the camera.

And DONT get lazy and make some changes in the NVR and some on the camera. It won’t end well

Agree BRF , my question is, my process to get to the cams own menu is :
Unplug camera lan from nvr
Go outside plug in 12v supply to cam
Go inside plug cam Lan into modem
Start internet explorer with cams address
Once changed settings
Unplug Lan go outside remove 12v before restoring cam into nvr

Is there a way of bypassing all this faff on

Unless the place you bought it from locked the username to prevent changes, you don't have to go thru all this crap to access the camera GUI.

You said when you try it the way we said it looks "broadly familair" to what you see from the NVR - post screenshots of what you see. We will be able to tell if they locked you out of seeing other things.

And of course many of the options will be the same. But they should be set in the camera GUI and not the NVR.

That is not getting to it by the camera GUI via the "e" button in the NVR.

That is still the NVR.

When you are in the camera GUi via the e, the IP address will be showing a port number.

Now view of nvr's own screen

When you actually get into the camera GUI via the "e" it will look exactly like it does when you do all the unplugging jazz and 12v power cords.

Until you see that GUI, you are still in the NVR

I think this is equivalent to your area but my gui seems to lack that

If so , is there other method via IE cos I think the cameras address 10.1.1 etc is private

Yes, it was previously explained more than once

So BRF what is the simpler procedure to get into cams own menu , or does everyone do what I have been doing

That doesnt appear to be the Web GUI. What web browser is that?

I sent pics of the nvr gui , and of the nvr via internet explorer. Both similar. I use the system by directly viewing nvr on a monitor and mouse attached to nvr.
But since dahua have removed the hyperlink to the cams menu, is there another way into the cams menu

Take a picture and show us on your screen of a web browser logged into the NVR using its IP address. The web browser outline should be seen

NO they are NOT the same.
Use the WEB GUI , NOT a monitor hooked to the NVR. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
