Thanks fenderman - really good tip! Can someone recommend a cheap camera for outdoor use which can be used just above a door. The object will be very close to the camera.
And why is the foscam cameras bad? Maybe I have had luck so far (2year) the camera performs really good video and also support the Swedish cold winters...

I have a 9805w and a 9826w ptz and they both work with the same make/model profile in Blue Iris. Maybe someone on here with knowledge of the model in question will chime in. I wasn't really happy with my Foscams, especially at night so I got some Hikvisions and I'm now contemplating using the Foscams in other locations. I had so much trouble with the wireless that I ended up wiring them with cat5, thankfully the Hikvisions can use poe so I was able to do away with the power cords in the attic.

Blue Iris will not connect to my new Amcrest IP2M-841W, but I can see its image when I open its IP address in Internet Explorer. The 1080P image is great!

I've emailed Blue Iris tech support.

The Amcrest IP2M-841W is on the Blue Iris dropdown list, but is not in the tested cameras list on their web page.

Foscam tech support changed it in Blue Iris. When that didn't fix the problem, he gave up and told me to contact BlueIrisSoftware.com, which I did.
When you log into the camera interface what ports does it indicate its using? There should be a list of ports in the network setup of the camera interface.

I watched the excellent video and downloaded ODM. When I run ODM I do not see the Monitor screen as shown on the video.
if you want to try a team viewer session I can try to get it running for you...
Also try the other methods in the post, including a scan by ipcamview for other cameras that use the same url.

Mega kudos to fenderman. He found the problem in a few seconds!

I can't believe I had 192.168.1.54:8096 in Blue Iris. It should have been 192.168.0.54:8096, which is what I used to view it in IE. Can't beat another set of eyes.
