Hi,

We’re facing a “Network is unreachable” error on some Hikvision CCTV cameras during the power transition from commercial to generator. The cameras work fine when powered on but lose connection during the switch.

We have checked:
  1. Cables – No issues.
  2. Cameras – Work when directly connected to the switch.
  3. IP address & configuration – No issues found.
The house has frequent electrical fluctuations, so we installed a UPS and power stabilizer to protect the system. Could this be affecting the cameras?

Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Which I think implies that there is a power interruption on the changeover.

Yes, if there is a short break in power before the UPS takes over, or if the under-voltage activation of the UPS is set too low for the cameras to still be properly powered.

A PoE switch? How are the cameras usually powered? PoE ports on the NVR?

Thank you for you assistance. The Cameras are powered by a separate switch.
