Thoughts on using AMD PROCESSOR

I've been running my cameras (7, wanting to upgrade to about 10 or 12) through my desktop that I built.
It is using an AMD processor. I have been running Blue Iris fairly well with all I do and have in this computer. But I am thinking that I want to run Blue Iris on a separate laptop. My 3mp outdoor camera seems to drop signal when it get cold outside.

I have an old Compaq Presario CQ62-225NR. Originally had Win 7 but upgraded to Win 10 and more memory.

Biggest question I have is why don't I read anything about using the AMD Processor?

Do you think I can upgrade the above laptop for a small system security house system.
Most of my cameras are 2mp or less.
Or should I look into an Intel i7 newer generation? I'm kind of thinking tat I can find a decent i7 refurb for the price it is going to cost to upgrade the compaq.

There are many threads discussing this and why its a bad idea. dont use an old laptop. Buy a pc for 100 bux. see wiki.

I run an AMD processor, not the best choice but it works for my load.

A laptop is not designed for 24/7 use. You will kill it.

Check out this site by BP2008 for CPUS and cameras Blue Iris Update Helper

as said 100s of times, a standalone PC box with drive space is best for BI
