I use tripwire with all my Dahua cameras. So far, it works well. Unfortunately, the tripwire detects all light changes e.g. if the sun comes out or the sun disappears behind some clouds. I know this happens when using motion detection and I hoped tripwire would not act so sensitive to light. Is there a way, I can eliminate this problem when using tripwire? Thanks for every reply.

I'm guessing the only real way is to use PIR sensors for detection. Which may be why OEM's such as Dahua are beginning to incorporate PIR into some of their new camera series...

ok, too bad, but thanks anyway. So the next cameras I buy must have PIR. Any good recommendation for a Dahua PIR camera?

Hi @Tester1234

I don't think PIR in cameras yet is good enough to really do a proper job of reducing false positives to acceptable levels for consumers.

You're better off using separate security sensors imho.

Agree with @mat200
Didn’t mean to imply there are an abundance of good PIR integrated cameras out there yet.

The idea is to tie in separate remote sensors . Something I’ve only read about here honestly, but yet to tackle myself.

Did you try intrusion instead of a tripwire? This could make a difference.
