Hello. I had a functioning Lorex NVR (the costco one). Lorex is pissing me off (killed the mac client, for ex) so I'm moving. Trying to re-use the in-place cameras, cables, etc.
Cameras are Lorex 8005's. They may not be the best things ever, but they work. Lorex webpages suggest they're ONVIF compatible, so this should work, right?
setup:
HP EliteDesk 800 w/ Win10.
- added wifi card, so can connect that way or via Ethernet plug it came with.
4-port POE ( )
Google WIFI mesh router/wifi
Lorex LNB8005 cameras
I plug the cameras into the POE switch (both connection and POE lights come on at the switch, I can see the Infra-red lights come on @ the camera, so it is powered).
I plug the uplink port on the switch to the hard-wired port in the google wifi-router.
I have BI scan for cameras. nothing.
tried connecting the poe uplink directly to the ethernet port on the windows box. rescanned...nothing
tried ditching wifi and connecting both the desktop and the poe uplink switch to a wired router. rescanned...nothing
Am I setting this up incorrectly? Should BI be able to see connected cameras?
