I wonder if this is going to kill the low cost stuff from china on ebay? The shipping is so cheap that I've thought that USPS must be losing money on it.

SpeedPAK is an eBay shipping service developed specifically for cross-border deliveries originating from China. eBay has partnered with Orange Connex Ltd to provide sellers with a logistics solution that is fully integrated with eBay’s platform, offers fast handling and delivery times, and is protected by eBay.

From NY Times:
President Trump plans to withdraw from a 144-year-old postal treaty that has allowed Chinese companies to ship small packages to the United States at a steeply discounted rate, undercutting American competitors and flooding the market with cheap consumer goods.

We kill our businesses in the USA with environmental regulations, and labor laws, but allow product from other countries that have zero environmental regs and, especially in the case of China use, basically, slave labor.

When was the last time you heard one of the many environmental organizations in the USA complain about this disparity?

I believe that's the idea, reduce the advantages that some countries have from artificial low cost shipping.

Recently I have ordered some DJI Mini parts from Ali, and they were shipped all the way to my door by Chinese(even the delivery man). No USPS involvement. It came fast as well, around a week.

Apparently this was lifted this morning. Odd...

Yes .. Ebay, Temu, Aliexpress .. all going to get hit with pricier shipping rates ..

Looks like numerous consumers of items from China got hit hard .. ( example the drone parts @tibimakai mentions .. although in his case reports they did not go through via USPS )

cheap China to USPS shipping has advantaged numerous consumers and tech innovators .. the tech supply chain in China is reported to be very impressive, and makes it hard for developers / innovators in the USA who are dependent on China as an upstream source of components. ( like us who look to China / Hong Kong for cameras .. from the cheap stuff to the quality stuff )
