Ugh my DS-2CD2032-I got wet....

... well there was water inside the jack. Came home to no signal and no light on my POE router. Is it likely the router died or the camera? I dried the connector out for a bit, but the no light on the router concerns me.

How did you weatherproof the connection? As far as your poe switch, are you saying there are no lights on it at all?

Weatherproof you say, LOL! Ummm... yeah that didn't happen yet. It must be the router. I was able to plug power in the camera, move the CAT5 over to the non POE side and camera works fine.

Can the camera body's get wet? I know connectors wet are no, no.

the body can get wet no problem its ip66 rated....its the connector that cannot...

Yep, lost the POE switch. Staples was nice enough to let me switch it out.

dielectric grease, (tightly pulled) electrical tape and UV stable heat shrink tube are your friend, love them like duct tape and zip ties! never find your self in short supply of any of the above.

If you have a harbor freight nearby hit them up asap and find the wiring isle.
