I recently added 4 Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-AI-V3 cameras to my 12 Dahua cameras. It's obvious these are just rebranded Dahuas. Question is, can I update the firmware on my older Dahua Starlight IPC-HDW5231R-Z cameras to theirs? The software is almost identical. Or, is there a newer version of firmware for them? I currently have:

Some of these are still asking for a web plugin in Internet Explorer when attempting to view them by IP address.
Way back 3-4 years ago, there were active forum posts about flashing some of the Amcrests. 1179 may have been one of them as I recall. but the V3 mighta been where it began to get bricked trying to do so.
Found this on Youtube. Guy shows you how to upgrade Dahua OEM cameras such as Amcrest or Lorex to Dahua firmware and get all the features such as facial detection, intrusion, ect.
I want to do it to my cameras but I'm afraid it might brick them or cause other issues. Your thoughts?
