URGENT!!! There will be new DMSS 2.0 and new cloud account mode & new cloud video streaming

I don't find the app much different than a year or two ago. A few tweaks but not wholesale revamp.

I'm mainly after push notification when a person is detected so I can easily tell if it is someone unknown, and easily playback that notification clip. Is that feasible? Last time I tried, it was a no go.
 
It’s good if you take time to learn it.
It’s still not what some want - 100% control over every single camera setting and feature all on one screen :rofl: It never will be.

Consider trying the Amcrest View Pro app...works with Dahua, as Amcrest is OEM'd by Dahua.

This is so basic I can't understand how people say it doesnt work?
Please show me how this is difficult?

How you setup the app and connect to the NVR/camera does matter however
 
Phone is on cellular, not connected to wifi. I could be in Bolivia

DMSS profile is using P2P, device us added using NVR serial number

DMSS app is not open on phone

1- Ok so I walk through an intrusion zone setup 24/7 in my driveway.

2- within about 5 seconds I get a banner notification and “ding” on my phone
(pic shown a few minutes later as I sat down to get these snapshots)

3- I click on “Open”

4- I’m taken to the DMSS app directly to the event pic and video. EST it took 3 seconds to load pic/video .

Times will depend on YOUR cell connection. So if you’re in East BFG with no bars expect it to take longer. Not the fault of the app

The new DMSS upgraded many things a lot..

First P2P works much faster & better.. 1-3 seconds connecting times over GSM from NVR in another country are normal...
Multi-window mode allows to see live view 10 cams at once in 2 column way or 3-4 cams in full width (1 column) way on iPhone. And You can scroll over many cams connected to many NVRs at once in one view...

In each cam there is separate view to show footage from "cloud messages" and separate view to see recorded footage from past divided by parts by any events (AI or classic ones)..

Many features was copied from Unifi Protect and/or Imou Life.. But there are many missing - maybe (I hope) they will add in future..

I ended up sending the NVR back as I could not get around the horrible UI, but that is me and I decided to move from BI to Scrypted for that reason. I need to build a system for a relative so that needs to be rock solid, even with a not as great UI. I can't tell you about the notifications on DMSS as I didn't even get there last time as it was too frustrating to deal with the UI in general.

I may give it a go again, perhaps even for myself to test.
 
It is great to hear DMSS has improved a fair bit, I'm considering Hikvision as well as it seems I can more easily get Hikvision kit in south america compared to Dahua which OEM for a few brands over there but they only have lower end models like older 1 and 2mp with very small sensors.
 
Does anyone else have delayed notifications from cameras not directly connected to their Dahua NVR? Ever since the DMSS update my cameras that aren't plugged in directly's event notifications are delayed. Just last night I only received a notification on the app 10 minutes after the camera triggered the IVS rule.
 
I just tested both on local wifi and remote on cellular on 2 cams that are on an external switch vs two that are plugged into the NVR PoE ports and saw NO difference. I’m going to say 2-3 seconds from trip to alert on my phone

To be clear I have two profiles on my phone. One for local wifi and one for remote when I’m on cellular.

The two cams on the switch are assigned IPs on my local network 192.168.1.x and the two other cams tested are plugged into my NVR and assigned by the NVR 10.1.1x

I usually wait 6 months + before updating as they break something every new version.

Hmm, I see I'm on the newest 27 Apr version, so that might be the cause yeah. I think your policy of waiting 6 months is a good idea, once they fix this, I'll also turn off auto-updates for the app.
And thanks for taking the time to test it out on your side as well, I appreciate it!

They have been making big changes to their p2p cloud and their new cloud.
It also depends on your NVR fw version
If you’re running a Dahua NVR you want to be sure you’re running a fw version dated no earlier than August ‘24
 
I think that may be fine? 5/24
I can’t be certain. It could be only the older models were the problem like mine 4KS2E
