Supreme Court denies request to halt construction of the border wall

The Supreme Court by a 5-4 vote has denied a request to halt construction of President Trump’s border wall over environmental concerns.

A number of groups, including the ACLU and Sierra Club, had asked the high court to get involved again after the justices last year cleared the way for the administration to use military funds for construction while the case played out in the courts.

A federal appeals court had ruled against the administration last month, but the justices, for now, have given another temporary victory to the administration.

Don’t Look Now, But Philly’s Homicide Count Just Broke a Record

If you feel like things in Philly seem more violent than usual, trust that feeling, because it’s backed up by hard data.

As of 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday night, the Philadelphia homicide count for 2020 was up 32 percent over where it was the same day last year. So far this year, Philly has seen 247 homicides when we were at 187 this time last year. In fact, 247 homicides is one homicide more than all of the homicides for the entirety of 2013, when the city saw 246 killings. Think about that for a second.

Living in the southern part of the Great Nanny State I get to see what Philly is turning into on a daily basis from the local news. Very liberal Democratic Mayor coupled with a Soros backed Prosecutor is a straight road to Portland or Seattle conditions. It's not like Philly has been a "gem" for a long time, it's always had rot/decay problems, but these two morons are adding lime to the corpse of "The City of Brotherly Love".

You see where in NYC the policies of Comrade DeBlasio have led to addicts shooting up in Time Square and people using church entrances for toilets? Another Liberal/Soros/Progressive success story. Plus their murder rate is way up as well. Just now, watching the news, Minneapolis murder rate is up 94% over last year which was up, significantly from the year before.

Let's keep letting convicted violent felons out of jail, let them go without bail after an arrest and see what happens next. Anyone want to hazard a guess?

You are correct. These two Democrats are taking Philly down hill at an alarming rate. This must be the strategy if you are a big city Democrat Mayor. Create chaos and anarchy in hopes this will take down President Trump. Joe Biden seems to accept this as he does not even talk about it.

Operation LeGend Results in 97 Arrests to Date, Including Five Murder Suspects (St. Louis)

Officers Seized 35 Firearms, Nearly Three Kilos of Meth
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison announced today that 97 arrests have been made by local and federal law enforcement officers in less than two weeks since the launch of Operation LeGend.
“This is the impact of a targeted initiative to reduce violent crime, carried out by local and federal law enforcement working together,” Garrison said. “Many of those who were arrested were illegally carrying firearms or illegal drugs. By bringing them to justice, we reduce the level of violence on the street and the threat of crime in our neighborhoods.”
“This is our first detailed report to update the public on the progress against violent crime that has been achieved as a result of Operation LeGend,” Garrison added. “We are striving to maintain as much transparency as possible for an ongoing law enforcement operation. I’ve been communicating with local pastors, community leaders, victims of violent crime, and public officials, and will continue to provide regular updates.”
Among those arrested from July 15 to July 31, new federal charges have been filed against 11 defendants. Nine defendants were charged with illegally possessing firearms, one defendant was charged with drug trafficking, and one defendant was charged with carjacking.
Among the remaining 88 arrests, 49 were fugitives with either state or federal warrants for their arrest. The remaining 39 non-fugitive arrests were referred for prosecution in state court. Five arrests were for homicides. Other offenses cited in the arrests included assault, drug trafficking, illegally possessing firearms, robbery, child molestation, and sexual assault.
In addition to the arrests, agents and officers seized 35 firearms, a total of nearly three kilograms of methamphetamine, hundreds of pills (including oxycontin and ecstasy), heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, and nearly $40,000 in cash.

Operation LeGend
Operation LeGend is a federal partnership with local law enforcement to address the increase in homicides and violent crime in Kansas City, Mo., in 2020. The operation honors the memory of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro, one of the youngest fatalities during a record-breaking year of homicides and shootings. Additional federal agents were assigned to the operation from the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
