Using Home Depot PVC to install outdoor cameras

Lately I've been using PVC boards I've purchased from Home Depot to install my outdoor cameras. I mount a piece of PVC to my house and then I mount the camera to a 2nd (smaller) piece of PVC. This allows me to swap out cameras quickly and easily by simply unscrewing one board mounted camera and replacing it with a 2nd board mounted camera, as shown below. The Home Depot PVC is inexpensive and weatherproof material which seems to work well...

I've never really been comfortable leaving the pigtail or wires exposed. Not just because someone can cut them, but the weather can take its toll on the wire also. I like the idea if the PVC board though. Where is your connection for this camera? Inside the wall or a junction box?

I agree regarding the connections. I posted this 'Bullet Camera Mounting Box' back on 9/20 which works great for me. Click ==>> here <<==.
 
@Q By no means am I a professional. Don't take me the wrong way, I was merely stating my opinion. I have used a 2x4 on the corner of a building as a PTZ mount before, I have done some crazy wiring to get the job done, and in south florida, being around boats, that PVC is quite useful.
 
I have used this PVC board for a couple of my mounts I used a 5" hole saw to make round mounts and have even made a 6" and a 5" rounds stacked to space under the soffit .
I also made a corner mount for a PTZ out of it. Nice to have around for projects.

I've used it as well...cut a triangle piece to fit at the peak where the two roof halves meet to give a mount for a Ubiquiti NSM2 atop a 5 foot mast more 'meat' to grab onto other than just the wide part of a 2-by-4 (3-5/8"?). Good stuff!

AndyCam = FrankenMount. But hey, whatever works. A wall mount and a lens with a bit more zoom would be a bit less in the way though. I've got grandkids that'd love to climb to the top of Mount AndyCam.

Hold on there partner...you're barkin' up the wrong tree. Necessity being the mother of invention, the MACM (Mobile AndyCam Mount, which those in the know pronounce "Mac-Em") is a temporary solution born of the inner turmoil of a desperate and demented mind...and soon, I fear, Mrs. Q™ will need demand that her kitchen stools be returned. Opps...I believe I hear her calling me now...

Actually bro, at 5-weeks old that little terrorist kitty survived a 90-mile ride lodged between my radiator and bumper at speeds exceeding 70 MPH...and I can prove this fact if you doubt the veracity of this statement. Furthermore, this little kitten EATS Chihuahueño Mexican Mountain Dogs for breakfast and that's the DOG-GONE truth because I have the video to prove it...

In fact, we'll be transitioning ACT (AndyCam Technology) to ACICS (AndyCam In-Cage Solution). We are considering utilizing a Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-AS or IPC-HDB4231C-AS to accomplish this. Here we have a ACICS temporary proof of concept solution utilizing a Vivotek FD8136 POS (Piece of Shit)...
