I am going to order Blue Iris off of Amazon. They have two offers available:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008YD80KC?keywords=blue iris&qid=1444578818&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

and

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008P8EQZO?keywords=blue iris&qid=1444578818&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2

Boxes look the same. Both are pro Editions. The product descriptions are identical. One specifically says version 4 the other does not. Does anyone know of any differences? Could one be version 3? I can't believe they would be selling version 3 after a year. I assume, but only because they is no indication otherwise, that they are disk copies and not down loads. Its only $9 difference but all things being equal I will take the cheaper one.

Thanks
John

Dont support foscam. They dont make blue iris, they simple repackage it and sell it alongside their crappy cameras.
Buy it direct from the developer http://blueirissoftware.com/purchase/
He is a one man shop that does this all by himself.

I really wanted a disk copy. A direct purchase costs $60 another $12 for the cd. Although its not required for the purchase, they also try to ding you for $9 of worthless download protection. Gotta go with price.

A disk is COMPLETELY worthless as you will get a VERY outdated version of the software- its updated twice monthly. You are better off downloading it and burning to disk or drive or upload to dropbox (its a very small 60mb file), but that is pointless too as the latest version is always available for download on the website. You can opt out of the download protection, that is added by the digital river, not the developer. Whatever you do, buy from any other source than foscam. That company should never be rewarded for the crap they pull. They were selling old stock v3 for many months after v4 was released.
You can also check out this site, not sure who it is but looks legit. http://www.blueirisdownload.com/
I would still buy from the developer. Aside from supporting him directly, you know you are getting a clean key that no one touched and if you have issues with the key there is a record that you purchased from him.
