Vigilant Solutions VSR-60-02MP1 IP Camera IPC262ER9-X10DU 24V, 1.5A, 50/60Hz.

Sharpshooter 4.0 - damn is 1400.00 the correct amount? Thats crazy. I upgraded a lorex nvr with instructions from this site. It now says Dahua with the 4.0 system 380 mgbt and 2 AI channels. I just wish it had 16 instead of 8 channels. I also have an 8 channel uniview nvr and BI on a pretty nice computer.

I just need my younger brain back.....and quit going down all the rabbit holes on the net.... :)

No it is all good. That is why there are forums out there to help others with questions about a product that others might have little more info about. We all had to learn by messing with the cameras and doing resets or asking questions.

Yes lol that is the price it will get you, The Uniview was double that when I bought it new I found it for less but when i asked if they had any in stock i was told no lol. So I think it is just someone trying to Troll the real price, But yeah don't buy the camera if you don't have a need, For me Location was long range Gate front back and had PTZ but over years belts or just hall effects they get off track of where they were meant to be. Because of being a remote to my location I needed after asking buy a new 4mp PTZ and take out Pan and Tilt functions or buy the long range bullets. Plus there are other things about the cameras other IP bullet cameras don't offer, one Presets and heater, unless it is a PTZ or some of my older larger analog bullets. But 2 to 3 lbs camera compared to an 8lbs one at some locations can't install the big boy lol.. But yeah I really wish most of my zoom cameras offered presets because unlike some of the Dahua ones I installed back when, Setting and trying to focus was just a PITA.. So Analog cameras and even some of my IP box zoom cameras like the ones I posted a picture of also have presets but again cost and then issue is they are not outdoor so then you need costly housing if you want quality anyway. Most of the housings that I had from 2010-16 are trash today, heaters dead, lens yellowed lol so yeah Dahua outdoor housing are costly but much higher quality. Younger brain, I wish I could go back 40 years and start again from there.. Back in the day working on adding funny's to CB radios talking skip around the world.. All gone because of the Internet lol..

Mine has same country code and customer code, wonder if that is just base setup and never entered? I mean India seems strange as location code for yours also.. So wonder if that was just starting and no one ever changes. When I get home want to look. At mine, also have that data in my files.

I had a ton of tgz files that i didn't try to open. So not being very computer literate im ok with this camera. It seems to be all good. And thanks for your help!

so the region code IN for India ? Thats pretty close to China...I think. :)

All good, Thing is being happy with the camera, That is what is important. But for the cost hard to say much bad about it :) But yeah there is a lot of files that can be unpacked and going though them to find info is what I was talking about it can be hard at times to find the really good things as they are packed and then packed and have to unpack a few to get to good info lol.. Anyway here is mine showing india and on my Alibi has custom 02 and I am guessing that is Alibi maybe ? Removed some personal things but you can see it looks like yours a little bit..

Congrats on the camera. I have a bunch of them and I use it for LPR, and it works pretty well. The IR could be a little stronger, but it works fine up to about 100ft. Be careful with waterproofing if you are running it on POE, make extra sure the ethernet connector is dry, otherwise it will short out the POE module inside the camera then you'd have to power it with a 12V power source.

The Camera is made by Uniview, it was OEM by Vigilant as a stationary camera for running parking I think. It does not have anything special to pulse the LEDs to make it easier to read the plates, but it seems to do just fine. Here are 2 sample images of day and night performance.

NewCam Pic.jpgI'm very satisfied. It's the 1st 2mp cam I've put on this sys. I really like the way it operates. Now I can relocate my PTZ.

I really need to dial in the night vision like you have yours. It takes a little time.:thumb:

Here are these two very cheap cameras, compared. I really have no reason to believe they would be comparable, other than they're the only varifocal cameras I have to play with, and they're both cheap.

FOV, fully zoomed out, in a dark bedroom with the shades up, but fading evening light:

Fully zoomed in:

The Vigilant cam on the left seems to have a pretty nice lens. I'm surprised at the detail on the fully-zoomed image. It also zooms and focuses far faster than the Dahua OEM.

OOTB oddities: each of these came with a different static IP address, but the vendor (or maybe the OEM?) was kind enough to put it on a sticker:

1742175251832.jpeg

I still don't understand why some companies are allergic to DHCP. Anyway, one login and settings update, and they're on my network and in BI for testing.

I was prompted to change the default password from admin/admin, and the UI grades your new password strength, but oddly enough the new password can contain only:

0 to 32 characters allowed, including letters(A-Z, a-z), digits(0-9), underscores(_), and hyphens(-)

My normal camera password contains a shift-number, so this is annoying .

The settings OOTB were also very strange, including the exposure being dialed all the way down to nearly 0. It took me awhile to figure out why the IQ was so crappy.

Also, no live video in any modern browser, because the in-camera web server wants to use a plugin. Not a deal-breaker for a $35 camera, but annoying.

I would do a factory reset to see if that's better/easier than manually checking every setting, but I can't seem to find a button to Import saved settings. There's an Export button, but no import. WTH?

The exported .tgz/.xml is interesting. If there was any doubt that this was intended as an LPR camera, here's a section of the XML:

Has anyone found a firmware update for these? Clicking "Cloud Update: Detect" results in "No version detected for upgrade."

Googling "VSR-60-02MP1" "firmware" results in nothing except this thread.

Googling "Vigilant Solutions" (the name in the banner on the web UI) returns Motorola at the top of the page, with a reference to a "Vigilant Mobile Companion App":

but searching that site for "VSR-60-02MP1" returns nothing.

I also searched Uniview's firmware page for IPC262ER9-X10DU, IPC262ER9, and even IPC262, but there is nothing regarding this model.

You will not find any firmware updates for these cameras via the normal avenues. You might be able to install the original Uniview firmware on them if the firmware is not signed with Vigilant's certs. I haven't tried, so I am not sure if it will work.

When you are ready for some fun, go to the web interface and hit control-alt-shift + y at the settings menu.

From there, you can change a lot of the settings on the camera that are hidden. You can also enable telnet access to the camera, but the shell is locked (no full root access).

It's dark now. So here's the side-by-side with the Vigilant cameras IR LEDs on Manual at 100/100. The Dahua's LEDs are off:

1742178927004.png

and the reverse, with the Vigilant's off, and the Dahua at 100:

1742178994414.png

The Dahua illuminates quite a bit more evenly. But in an LPR application we don't care, do we?

Ah, here's the Import button:

Is that because I entered the hidden menus? For some reason it's not 100% repeatable:
