I just uncovered the virtual host option on my NVR. When enabled I now can access my camera and expose additional options. I have three ways that I know of to configure various options, directly via the console connected to the NVR, via the web app connected to the NVR and now while directly connected to the camera via the web.

Which is the recommended method to manage things?
 
Use the Web page of the NVR, only direct to camera for fine tuning.

When I try to configure items from the camera web interface I often get an error, 'Failed to connect the test server'. Has anyone experienced this?
