Virtualizing BI?

I recently saw a post about a docker for BI but I don't think he was using a "real" license key to test with and not many cameras so there was no real discussion about performance and stability. My BI computer is the last "Winders" computer in my home. Everything else runs Ubuntu on PC hardware either natively or on dockers. I also just dumped an old Synology and put all of the disks in an Unraid box that is, theoretically, docker and VM capable. Rather than maintaining one last Windows computer and dealing with the constant updates and reboots of Windows just to run BI I'd really rather put the money and time into a leveraged system (i.e. one powerful enough to run dockers, VM's, Unraid, BI, etc.). What has been the general thought and experience with virtualizing BI? Thanks!

I run BI in an unraid vm. the VM disk is stored on a nvme drive, the footage is stored on spinning media. i have a ryzen 3900x. BI uses about 30% of the CPU processing ~500MP/s

see latest Blue Iris Support on Youtube for BI & VM. Might perk your interest.
