WD Purple 5400 Question

I have a old Hitachi 2tb 7200 sata 3.0 dated Oct 2010 made and i am about 30 feet away from the office where my dell tower is that runs about 10 ip cameras and during night i can hear the small clicking noise every few seconds from hdd trying to process the BI recordings, etc... is that normal? I am goin to update to a purple WD TB witch i found for $145 but someone was saying that it does a little clicking too.
Is that true? If can someone that has this drive and can reply.

Also i see users that 5400 is a better option than 7200 is that right?

Purples are going on sale all over the place. check out newegg, pick one up, the 2010 hard drive will not be around too much longer. no noises on my purple.
