WebCast to YouTube

Well hold your horses a bit... Per Ken's suggestion to try something, I got it to work.
Here is what I know so far.
It works streaming 640 x 480.

I only have one older Foscam that actually has a maximum res of 640 x 480 and I had tried that before but it didn't work.

This time, we told the WebCast tab, Video options... to resize the stream (which is already 640 x 480) to 640 x 480. Also note, the Audio tab, Audio has to be enabled (even though the cam doesn't have audio).

I tried one of my other cams again (1920 x 1080) this time telling the WebCast/Video area to resize it to 640x480, Audio on (even though no audio from camera) but it did not work.

I tried it with those settings and I get the same result where it starts and then stops. I do have an old Foscam I will try it with but that doesn't help if we want it in HD with current cams.

Yes, but if the problem is identified, a solution can follow. Hopefully Ken will be able to make some changes to fix it - Just waiting his reply now.
I too will only ever be using cams with high resolution - one of the primary reasons I want Youtube stream capability.... Ustream lowers the quality on the free end, from what I understand.
 
also for me for youtube webcast streaming don't work instead for ustream work
I think that some settings for youtube streaming missing in Blueiris
encoder setting for youtube are:
Encoder settings
Protocol: RTMP Flash Streaming
Video codec: H.264, 4.1
Frame rate: up to 60 fps
Keyframe frequency:
Recommended 2 seconds

do not exceed 4 seconds

Audio codec: AAC or MP3
Bitrate encoding: CBR

Recommended advanced settings
Pixel aspect ratio: Square
Frame types: Progressive Scan, 2 B-Frames, 1 Reference Frame
Entropy coding: CABAC
Audio sample rate: 44.1 KHz
Audio bitrate: 128 Kbps stereo

but in Blueiris i can't find them
 
Update:

Alright I have made some discoveries ...

It seems like the YouTube streaming requires audio. I was able to use any video size and the default encoder settings. If there was no audio, YouTube would not process the video.

I did find a bug where I enabled audio in the camera window yet no audio was flowing, since the camera had no real audio stream. I fixed this so that it setup a silent/empty stream. YouTube is happy with that!

I will have an update within a day in case this will help your situation as well.

I have just tried with my usb webcam with last version of Blueiris (4.5.3.6) and enabling audio in camera proprieties .... youtube streaming work!

But if you don't want stream audio then it don't work
So we need of a silent audio stream!

My last messaging with Ken was that he was going to push out an update that would allow a "silent stream" that youtube would be happy with.
 
I have not used live streaming before and would like to try it.
Has anyone by chance posted step-by-step instruction on how to set it up through YouTube or U-stream, direct from a camera or through BI?
Is this free or are there any fees involved to do this?

There is a bug in Blueiris for youtube streaming You can stream on youtube enabling audio in blueiris

However if you don't want audio in live streaming there is a trick Waiting for bug it to be resolved
In my pc i have selected another audio device with no microphone instead of my lifecam hd 500 in this mode:

or you can select another virtual device
Ps: Facebook live have same problem

For Ustream create an account, go to channel setting and create a channel.In broadcast setting you can find encoder settings with url rtmp and key streaming that you must insert in Blueiris

For Youtube you can find url rtmp and key streaming in live streaming section of your youtube acccount.

Ustream and Youtube are free service but in your video they put ads
In Ustream you can remove ads becoming a Ustream Pro Broadcaster.. more info in Ustream website

Got it Working by Enabling Audio on the Camera you want to broadcast! Just click the Audio Tab and enable.

Max B frames should be 1

GOP frames as 30

Superfast, HLS 3

Says video unavailable. Did it quit working or did you just cut off live feed?
 
There are quite a few threads on this subject so where are we now? Is it working? Has a silent audio stream been provided as discussed elsewhere? Was it necessary or has another solution been found?
 
I did get it to work using a silent audio stream, however I have found an easier way to stream to Youtube Live indefinitely 24x7 using software called OBS and pulling the feed directly from the camera.
 
I used OBS to stream to Youtube but had issues with the feed hanging at random times. Will you post what you did to achieve a successful Youtube link up? How long has it been running non stop?

I do have a BI/Youtube stream running now at: Bird Cam – usefulramblings I'll see how long this streams.

Right now it has been streaming for 218 hours, only because I had to reboot the system that it's on to install updates. Do you mean the live feed hangs on the YT end, or the application hangs up or both? I have had the stream hang once where it was just the same still image and not streaming video. Other then that time, it normally goes for a month at a time or more. Not sure what I am doing differently, I am using VLC video source with RTSP directly from my Hikvision cam.

I meant that the live feed hangs on the YT end. I would have to interface with YT and reset/start the stream. What I currently like with this current set up is the "rolling/scrolling time stamp" on the image. This comes from BI. It gives me a better feel for how the stream is behaving. Before on non-windy days you could never be quite sure although windless days in Florida are quite rare.
