What CPU and video card do I need for these 8 cameras - headless?

Based on what I've read, it appears that the Optiplex 3040 SFF has 1x3.5 and 1x2.5 internal bays - while the MT (Mini Tower) has 1x3.5 and 2x2.5.

Is this correct? What's up with 2x2.5? That seems kind of weird. Those WD Purple drives are 3.5, right?

Did 2x3.5 internal bay go the way of the dinosaurs in the industry?

The sff dell has only a single 3.5 bay and a dvd bay....there might be a caddy you can use...the 5040/7040 have m.2 slots for ssd's...
these are made for office use...most dont need more than that space..

I had to zip tie my wd purple drive into my computer. No room for a third. Any issues with going external drive?
