So you have 'Stored' allocated to the F Drive. But it does not seem to be connected to your computer.
And you shouldn't really use stored anyway. If you have two drives, split the cameras across the drives.

I agree with you. The F Drive is disconnected. I recently added a low profile CPU cooler and may have disconnected the SATA connection.

I read the info and made a few adjustments and what a difference! I also simplified my storage situation by sending everything to one folder, cutting that folder from 4gigs to 3gigs and kept the 1hr block. Everything is deleted after 5 days. I zeroed out folders that weren't being used, including the F drive and allocated about 85% of the E Drive for use. My fps are @ 15, Intel VPP+ hardware acceleration and H265 are in use. I still hover around 18% CPU usage and have no lag in video. There are a few other changed I made and overall, I believe with the help of you guys, I fixed a problem I didn't realize I was having and made my system run much smoother. Thanks for your time and patience.

You might be able to play with H264 recording and Hardware Acceleration (off), and see if that hinders or helps performance. might bring CPU usage down in some cases.
If it's working great, by all means go in and screw with it.

Why delete after 5 days? Let the drive auto delete and rewrite over as it fills up.
As far as I know, the only issue I had with the system was the F drive not working properly which can be pinpointed to me adding a new CPU cooler and possible disconnecting a SATA cable. I only realized the problem when it was pointed out after asking a question. Otherwise, I've always gotten alerts, my CPU usage stayed around 18% and I could view my cams and files remotely. There were little tweaks suggested to make my system perform better that are really helpful. Most of them were already done. They work! Now, I'm getting little tid bids from people like you. I play around with them to see how they help or hurt.
By the way, I am in no way hostile or trying to be an A hole. I hope my responses don't come across that way. I appreciate your help and try what you suggest. And besides, I needed the help.

No offense taken. When we see something that is off for someone, we like to bring it to their attention.
Some people certainly make a decision that if it happened more than 5 days ago, they don't care about it, so they set up to auto delete after 5 days.
Others want as much historical as possible.
Now it is for you to decide what is right for your situation.
Forgive me, not meaning to hijack this thread. I have been following the posts here and have tweaked some things on my system (and my thanks to all for the plethora of information here, in the forum). I do have one question. It is mentioned not to write to a network drive. Is this for all situations , or just some networks that may not be up to the task? I have always written to my NAS and have not had a single issue. Please explain.
Everyone's system is different. There are some that claim they can record camera video to a USB without an issue. I tried it once with one camera and it couldn't keep up after 25 minutes. YMMV.
The biggest concern about taking video out of the computer for storage deals with the live video. Unlike Netflix and streaming services that buffer their video feed, these cameras stream 24/7 without a buffer, so it can be a bottleneck or choke point in some systems.
If someone is taking older recorded video and moving that to NAS, that is different because if there is a lost packet and it needs to resend, no big deal. But for real time video, lost packets can mean loss of video and loss of signal in BI.

Generally speaking, historically NAS arrays have had problems with the constant, unrelenting, streams of video sent to them. The actual problem being caused by a lack of buffer space in them and, to a lesser extent, slower write speeds. The same thing can be true of lower end NAS today, relatively small buffering. It is also a function of how many cameras are streaming to a NAS. Historically, NAS has been in an environment with a lot of reads and few writes, even in large corporate environments with separate controllers dedicated to the NAS, so buffering was never much of an issue. That changes when recording multiple, high resolution (bit rate) video streams. A common workaround is to write first to local storage then move the files onto a NAS when buffering of raw data becomes a problem.

Yeah! BI is more intense than I ever thought it'd be. I hung around the forum for a while, but wouldn't make comments for fear of being trashed. It happens in forums. I read posts and tried what I read. I still have questions, but don't want to be given all the answers. The joy of this journey is doing it. I take great satisfaction in conquering this BI mountain. And I appreciate the life line thrown out from time to time by you guys. Thanks

Out of curiosity, my CPU usage hovers around 18% and will jump dramatically when I view footage. I have high res cameras but mainly keep them at 1080p or a little above that. So, are you suggesting that I can get a lower CPU usage and keep that spike from happening? Idk of I can post IP addresses in this forum, but here are some of my camera numbers. Yes, you are not running the substreams. That will drop you CPU% down to low/mid single digits. And has a big impact on CPU during playback.
And what cameras are those? FPS and iframes should match. KEY is a ratio of the iframes. BI likes the KEY to be 1.00 and will go into warning status (little yellow triangle) when it drops below 0.4.
Look at the optimization wiki and do EVERY item. Ask if you don't understand something.
