What kind of LPR recommended to my situation?

Hi everyone,
In my place, Enough 6mm lens..
So I dont need the monster cameras with the giant varifocal in it...
Im using now chinese AHD imx327
With exposure 1/1000 and its pretty perfect...
What kind of IP camera is the best for my situation?

That close a Dahua 5442 cam would be fine. If you want a fixed lens at 6mm, they are available in both turret and bullet form factors. These are 4MP cams on a 1/1.8" sensor so do very well at night.

Or the HFW1831E Dahua (1/1.8") ?
They are half price of the 5442 and they are 4K.

I know nothing of Hik. I only have Dahua.

Do not chase MP. Why do you want 4K for your situation? What does it buy you. You need to read the Cliff Notes and check out the WIKI.

Putting twice the pixels on the same sensor (8MP vs 4MP and 1/1.8" sensor), means that you need twice the light for the 8MP cam to perform as well as the 4MP cam. Actually more light as it is not a linear relationship.

I have no experience with the HFW1831E so I really can't comment. You need to write up a set of requirements for your camera and then find the cam that meets those requirements.

The AS model is a fixed lens cam that comes in 2.8, 3.6, and 6mm. The ZS cam is a 2.7-13.5mm varifocal.

PS: I have the turret version of the varifocal on my front porch and am very happy with it. I am not using it for LPR though. Realize it does not have audio.
