I am looking at purchasing a PC for BI

These two are the two on my short list

HP ProDesk 600 G1 Intel i7 4770 3.4Ghz 8Gb Ram 1Tb HDD Win 10 Pro Desktop PC
Elitedesk 800 G2 Intel i5 6500 3.2Ghz 8Gb Ram 500Gb HDD Win 10 Pro PC Desktop

Both are the same price ($AUD) and the i7 is older being a 4770 but is still faster than the i5 (looking at benchmark scores). The i5 being newer may be less power hungry. HDD is not an issue - I have spare drives to use with either of them

Looking at 4-6 cameras only - maybe 8 if I get lucky and win the lottery.

There is also an older i5 available for slightly less money

HP Elitedesk 800 G1 Intel i5 4570 3.2Ghz 8GB Ram 500GB HDD Win 10 Pro Desktop PC

43 reads and no one has feedback on these PC's

Please I need to pull the trigger ASAP and need some guidance

i have done a lot of reading and it sound like the latter version support h.264.

i don't know what the difference is between the ProDesk and The Elite Desk other than someone here saying there were some added features.

Please help!

I don't have any yet but lets say in the 2-4mp range.

If I am limited by the i5 to 2MP then that's the sort of thing I would like to know.

if you are going to do 8x4mp then get the 4770...otherwise get the 6500..the 6500 can eventually support h.265 hardware decoding, the 4770 cannot...
You are not limited to 2mp by the i5..its just that you would probably be at 60 percent cpu usage with a high load..
dont buy 4mp cameras, at this time they are subpar in low light and night...get dahua or hikvision 2-3mp low light cams..
My suggestion is to go with the i5-6500..

Thankyou

As you can tell I am still learning the details and its these little bits of information that make the selection so much easier.
