White flashes on HikVision 4MP cameras

I've the same problem with the DS-2CD2322WD-I and the DS-2CD2342WD-I.
Both camera's with the latest firmware...

Hikvision can't resolve the problem.
They think it's an hardware problem in the light sensor.

Sometimes it IS a hardware problem. That's why it's good to do business with a distributor that will handle your refund/returns etc. I'm having a camera replaced now that has a hardware problem.

Are the both the Chinese and the U.S. versions 2CD2342WD's having the flashing problem.

I think so. Mine was a U.S. version. Someone else had the same problem with a Chinese version. Mine was fixed with the US (hikvision) firmware while the othe was fixed (I believe) with a firmware update from Nelly.

Hi Guys,

Is there any way of exporting a firmware from my camera?

I have recently bought 2x DS-2CD2042WD-I. One came with firmware v5.3.6_151105 and the second one with v5.3.8_151224.

It looks like v5.3.8_151224 isn't available on HikVision website yet.

As soon as I have added the new camera (v5.3.6_151105) to my NVR (DS-7616NI-E2 / 8P/A) it became very sluggish and unresponsive (IE keeps crashing).

It must be something to do with Live View. Changed the stream from Main to Sub for the new camera and huge difference in performance but still not the same as I would have only cams with v5.3.3 connected

The one with v5.3.8 seems to be working fine.

Also what is the newest firmware version for that NVR - maybe that needs an upgrade?

Currently running V3.3.4 build 150616

I'm not running the same NVR a you so I don't know if this helps, I'm running the DS-7608NI-E2 and the latest firmware for that is v3.3.6 Build 151229. I updated it about 2 weeks ago.

Hey guys, first post here, maybe anyone can help? I have the white flashes when activating motion detection too. I have the DS-2CD2342WD-I with Firmware V5.4.1 build 160525. If I understand this thread right, this shouldn't happen with this firmware version. Anything I can do?

Thanks

I'm not sure if I'm missing out on any new features or anything that may exist in Firmware V5.4.1 build 160525 but when I installed Firmware v5.3.6 151105 the white flashes went away.
The camera does everything I want it to now so I don't think I need the latest Firmware.
Also, while this camera was not purchased through an authorized dealer (usually I use AVS Supply, which IS an authorized dealer, but this time I bought it off of Amazon from Compunet USA) it did arrive in a red and white box as pictured. It does not have "CH" in the serial number (as it shouldn't) and it DOES have "WR" in the serial number (as it should). I was not able to look for a "UL listed" sticker on the camera because it was already mounted. The UL Listed sticker is another indication that it's not a gray market camera and the firmware can be updated by the downloaded firmware on Hikvision's site.
