Has there been any white flash issues with U.S. versions of this camera reported?

I just recently got a 7608 NVR and three 4MP WDR cameras from Nelly's. I’m getting either white-out/black-out flash for a second or two with then a slow fade-in to normal exposure. It’s a white-out flash during day or a black-out flash at night. It seems to be triggered when there is change in brightness of the scene; either sun comes out from behind a cloud, or an outside light turns on or car drives by. Each time it happens, it triggers an alert. I haven't changed any of the image settings from the out-of-the-box, as I'm not sure what would make a difference. It seems like the iris or iso sensitivity can't react fast enough and sensor gets overwelmed and overcompensates. And it doesn't have to be a dramatic change. an overhead sun slowly coming out from behind a cloud can trigger it. It just doesn't seem right. Beyond it triggering false motion alerts, the loss of video for seconds right when something may be happening is not good. Looks like I have firmware that is latest listed on Nelly's website. I've asked for their advise, but haven't gotten anything back yet. Anyone have any ideas what to try adjusting?

That is exactly what i had with my DS-2CD2342WD-I 4mp wdr and nothing made the issue better

I upgraded the firmware to V5.3.3 build 150826 and it resolved the issue completely, i appreciate our cameras and firmware are different BUT the fact my issue was resolved by a firmware update would indicate your firmware needs work

Should I use Hik Euro's firmware to upgrade AARR 2142 cameras? Or a different region?

I was having the same problem as described above.
My camera is a bullet DS-2CD2642FW-IZS . It is the USA version. I called Hikvsion and they said I needed to update the firmware to 5.3.6 from their site.
So far the issue has been solved.
Off Topic: How do I turn off this spell checker? It causes me to make more spelling mistakes than I otherwise would because its so slow? Its rthe annoying.

Talked to Nelly's about issue, and they sent me firmware v5.3.6 build 151105. Installed on all three cameras and it does seem to have cured the issue.

V5.3.6 will remove the 3 of the 4 intrusion and line crossing zones. I went from 5.3.6 down to 5.3.3 build 150826 for this reason as i use these features.

Is there a Change log for 5.3.6 ?? at the moment 5.3.6 is not available on the EU portal so i do not know what has been changed or IF it is worth looking for

I do use line crossing so that would be a real shame to loose it as it provides me with notifications

If you have a DS-2CD2342WD-I, v5.3.6 151105 still applies. The release notes in the link above (and other firmware releases if there are any) will list applicable models, one of which is the 2342. As mentioned though, you will only be able to set a single area for intrusion and line-crossing detection with this release.

On this occasion i am going to hold off Kieran, i dont have any major issues with the 2342, a few bugs here and there but nothing bad enough to warrant loosing multiple line crossing as a consequence

Ardsar, I'm assuming 5.3.3 does not have that flashing problem. I already upgraded to 5.3.6 and the flashing went away. Am I able to downgrade to 5.3.3 build 150826 so as not to lose the line crossing zones? Thanks.

Ray, I downgraded with no issues to restore the additional zones. Build 150826 does not have the flashing issue.

Im not sure if Im having problem with white flashes or something similar. At a certain time of the day when light is reflecting direct from the cars windows, my DS-2CD2342WD-I
5.3.6 151105 start to flash and then stream freezes. Im not sure if its overheating or if its the white flashes problem, but I can login to the camera and restart it without problem. Didnt have this problem with my old 3332. Should I try to downgrade?
