Who uses Dahua AI capable cameras? Reliable AI for triggering events? Pro's/con's?

The 5442-Z4E is a varifocal up to 32mm.

To get to 80mm focal length on the 1/1.8" sensor you would need to go to a PTZ.

But 80mm would be a PTZ for a 1/2.8" sensor as well as the 5241-Z12E goes to 60mm.

Just wanted to give another example showing how good the AI is in the camera.

This is the 5442-Z4E.

Only trigger the last few days as been when an actual person was in the frame. Not one false trigger by the snow. BI would be going nuts trying to use CPAI as this would have been triggering all night.

you waited a whole year to put more Dahua AI pictures up :)

It didn't snow in July :lmao:

Plus I wanted to keep this great thread relevant as we do get posts from time to time of people having issues with the AI. In most cases it was MD was accidentally turned on, but it is still good to see examples of it in action!

The OP must of been very thoughtful to start a thread subject like this in the hopes it would survive years later to help others.

@wittaj - I have a question for you. For context, I have been using BI and 5442 cameras for 10+ years. ONVIF alerts sent BI, and can tag the person and IVS trip sent in BI.

IVS trip works great for cars and people.
However, we need to pick up boats coming by in our back canal 5442 camera (for security reasons). Dahua is not picking them up much even when we have trip wires with vehicle and car turned off. The boats are not close up and often slow moving.
Any suggestions? Would SMD or Smart Object help?

Dahua AI cameras themselves will be unable to help you trying to determine "boat" vs "vehicle" or such.
Might have to use the Blue Iris AI. Unsure if it has 'boat' listed in objects.
But then again... Andy / EmpireTech has a YouTube channel showing how to Self Learning DataBase, which I never have dabbled with. But this only applies to the S3 versions of T54's.

I can confirm it does have boats in its listed objects. I have had big vehicles get falsely flagged with it.
