Will cameras on 5.4.x firmware work on NVR 3.0.8 firmware?

i always thought the answer was no it wont, but i asked an aliexpress seller today if the cameras they sell running Version 5.4.x hacked firmware models DS-2CD2335-I and DS-2CD2332-I if they run on my older hikvision NVR running V3.0.8 hacked firmware, they said yes it will.
Question is, will this combination work ok or not??

As they are still only 3MP cameras, my guess (and it is a guess) is that they will work OK.
And with that old version of firmware, at least you won't get a 'language mismatch' complaint if you connect a CN camera.
With telnet still available - have you made a backup of the existing system firmware (mtdblock2) just in case you decide to do an update in the future?

one seller on aliexpress says
3.0.8 version is too low,the NVR firmware version must be higher than V3.3.0
