Hey all, just curious what dash cam everyone here uses. I'll start off.. I use an AUBBC dash cam. It's actually super cheap, but works well so far.

Sticking with 0806, there are better larger units, but size matters

I'm UK so a bit different.

Mini 0806 going into sister's car so can take side by side photos of it. The size isn't the main issue, the main issue is that I've fitted it much lower to get the best out of the lens on the camera. Now everyone points it out when they come for a spin.

I would have bought from Gearbest but 1) I've had a minor falling out with them (not enough to stop me ordering if it's a lot lot lot cheaper) and 2) It's actually more expensive when you take VAT & Handling charge into account. So this has to be the first time I've got a local warranty, the benefits of quicker shipping etc at a price lower than China.

Oh one thing to point, my Mini 0806 had a Micro-USB, this one is Mini-USB, but I wired it directly into the glovebox 12v cig socket and ran the cable around without having to take any insides off the car.

I've had two of them die because of the battery. So I got one from amazon with a capacitor instead of battery.

Has anyone had one survive a Texas summer? I'd like a capacitor version.
Get a GS98C, sure it's not the best but it's cheap $100 / £70, so if something goes wrong it's no big deal. It's virtually indestructible and it's got a capacitor.

I would not trust the Mini 0806 in that heat and I've only had the DAB201 for a week and it's hardly Texas summer hot in the UK.

Been lucky so far .... still pleased after 13 mos. (in TX & southern travels) ...
btw: I remove from Car when not needed & remove from windshield when parked (esp. bright-sun)
I think that's a good idea when it's that hot! I'm a little too lazy though.

Panorama II S
Sony Exmor 2.0 | 1920x1080 | 30fps

DODs are very good, I would pick DOD LS470W+ if it wasn't for the size

If it has to removed every day, it will not get used by my household. I'll need a capacitor based, hardwired camera that can take a Texas August afternoon.

The Blackvue is popular in Australia. Capacitor based and if it will survive an Australian Summer it will survive a Texas one.

Blackvue is almost $500 in the UK, that's crazy. Would rather have 5x Mini 0806s and just bin them when they go wrong for that (but probably would just send back under warranty!).
