Hi,

Good luck !

I bought my imporx cam from Abe Lei here http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/PTZ-ip-zoom-pan-tilt-Camera-With-1080p-20x-zoom-IP-Network-outdoor-onvif-plug-play/32473422703.html?isOrigTitle=true

Cam doesn't show ip anymore, works less 3 week.

Support of Abe Lei from this shop is null, one month he said, i will help you .. asked for a return, and since no life from them.

Stop to buy product from imporx, guys !
Agree ban Imporx my v2 10x dead about 6 weeks, I bought from Jack. I may as well email him and just ask for the splitter but, mine is a grinding. I was out of town and only used the PTZ from its parked position a few times so these cameras just die even if your not working them. I even ensured it was installed in mainly shaded area so although it was 34c I think it just has a short life. I will say picture and IR were great but, longevity and your time wasted speaking with China etc not worth it unless you are retired and like to keep busy.

I am very worried now.

vizi
My last one was local and I've sent stuff back to them before no problem. Bit worried about my first one but that wasn't PoE because I stupidly ordered the wrong one. Maybe not stupidly now.

Sending back to China from UK/EU isn't feasible is the problem.

The thing that worries me is that when I get it it will not be put to permament use for 8 months as I am really just getting it to set it up with BI and to have a good understanding of how it all works that way when I do set it up it will be much more of a seemless process as the settings will be mostly be set up upon install.

I do however plan to play with the cam when it arrives.

Well that's a risk even if you bought it local!

That is very true..It is what it is, is the attitude I have on it. I plan to also get a HIK varifocal dome cam to play with as well at some point. Probably should get back on topic and not ruin OP's threads any more than what I have.

@klasipca is there a Importx v3 planned and in the works?
No idea, Monica did mention in February they were working on a mini dome version but she went MIA a few month ago and hasn't responded to any inquires if there are working on it or not, but I hope they will improve reliability and address heat and POE. None of mine have died but I am not in the hot climate and they are not exposed to sun.

Mounted the new cam from Jack which I will be using as LPR/roof cam and attached external POE. That thing is just out of place, really miss internal POE option. I added silicon tape over all connection as I am not sure how waterproof they are. This will be my first Imporx/Huisun cam which will take some sun and rain beating...
House the POE dongle in a junction box of some sort?

Is there any scope for using a short extension for the 12v feed?

I've done this before and those external POEs get quite hot inside the box which seemed to almost killing the POE in the cam (see S500 thread) so I wanted to avoid doing that again.

How would that work since I also would need extension for ethernet connection?
