I believe that WDR is turned off on both Novate cameras.

I like apples but not oranges... you are comparing 4MP with 4K bitrate against 2MP with 4k bitrate, so of course 4MP cam will look worse. I suggest to set every cam to max bitrate they can handle.

I'm new to YouTube pozz...when I first upload the BI video it maxes out at 360p in YouTube. But apparently -- after a short period of time -- the YouTube video maxes out at 1080p (for the 2mp cameras...or 1440p for the Hik 4mp)...so I believe that there is some YouTube processing going on behind the scenes. Moral: wait a few minutes after the post for the HD video. In addition, I believe that the video definitely looks clearer when played on the BI Console...but WTF knows, eh?

Very cool of you to use yourself as a subject in these videos so we can compare. I am also looking forward to night shots.
I am about to buy a IMX322, so seeing your shots will be a great help.
[I just bought a Dahua 4300 from the pre-primeday Amazon Warehouse Deals 20% off promotion (Qualifies for a cheap cam right? $70) and I feel that there must be something wrong with the IR output. It sucks.]

Perhaps you could supplement the cameras IR with a motion activated LED spotlight?

$70.00 definitely meets the CheapCamPassMarQ®! highfive.gif

So only up 5k bitrate. Although I do like the image on this cam
Hmmmthe AliExpress listing states: "Video Stream Rate: 128Kbps-8Mbps"...are they talking about Bitrate? The Diske's VERY FUQING STUPID (VFS) camera interface changes the "MBPH" (typo or Chinglish?) to 4912 whenever a higher value is specified and saved.

Here's another from the $47.60 Diske Mini-Bullet | 1/2.8" Sony IMX322 | 2MP | 3.6mm |1920x1080 | 10fps | VBR 4219.

Try as I may, I simply cannot get a bitrate over 4219 to save to the VFS camera interface. In addition, it does not appear that there is an option to change the camera's iFrame.

Are you turning off the other cameras so they don't add ir to the camera being tested?

Yes, for night tests all cameras will be turned off except for the camera being tested; this was the case for the POS Diske night test, above.

Re: The Diske with Sony IMX322 sensor

At this point, I friggin' hate it. The camera software blows. There is no iFrame setting. The date keeps resetting to 1999. The night vision is a green streaked acid trip horror show. Can't log into the camera with IE11. Time is money; I've spent way too much time trying to tweak this camera klasipca. There is a nifty web-based firmware update function where the camera queries a website and then downloads new firmware...only trouble is -- after a 5-minute firmware download, install and reboot -- the camera shows the same firmware version. FuQu2 camera. I hate you.
