I have a test clip on another thread I started earlier (IPC-HFW4431R-Z varifocal) still playing with settings.

I received mine too!
Good quality camera (housing and bracket are metal, I expected plastic because I had read it in a feedback comment, but it seems that wasn't true).
Zoom is fast and it's possible to adjust it from Hikvision NVR using ONVIF, also works on iVMS-4200.
Let's see if the weather helps tomorrow to install it outside.

At night this camera performs better than Hikvision 2CD2032

Config: 3DNR@50%, Shutter 1/25, WDR/BLC/HLC OFF

Only IR from the camera.

IR from the camera + Univivi IR illuminator installed on the other corner.

And for comparison here an image from 2CD2032. Second image has IR from other 2CD2032.

@Chust what are the main technical differences between the 4mp you bought and the 2mp from dahua everyone wants? Both have motorized lens and obvious different Mp strengths. I see the one you bought is approx 100 dollars cheaper than the turrent cam that everybody has been discussing.

This Camera: 0.01LUX / F1.4 (color)
2MP Starlight: 0.006LUX / F1.4 (color)

I have a direct comparison video:

While the 4MP is nice; it just cant compete at night with the 2MP.. I installed two 4MP Dahuas this year; and they will be retired this year.. its not that they are bad cameras; its just the 2MP is so much better than anything else.. used to cost you $350+ to get a quality fixed camera with the performance capabilities of the Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

these are great cameras for under $100, and I will probably convert my 4MP cameras into LPR cameras or something like that; if you need something cheap to fill in the gaps its a good camera; if you are trying to achieve good ID at night then you should go for the 2MP Starlights

I would think at 12mm you could easy read the house number on the neighbors front door. if it were mounted at the street with proper IR illuminator and correct shutter speed, could you get excellent details or moving car at night (minus license plate)?

that video was recorded at around 8mm, 12mm is not that big of a jump up from where it was at.. excellent details of cars moving requires too high of a shutter speed I suspect.. but I guess ifyou put enough light on it; might be doable.

I'm dense, Nayr, in the above video what do you mean by Hi Lux, and Lo Lux? Thanks.
HiLux = High Lighting Conditions; ie, all lights and external IR is on..
Low Lux = Low lighting Conditions; ie all lights and external IR is off..

I dont have a way to measure lux; so you just get Hi and Low
