For this series of cameras firmware is different.
Moreover, all the tricks and stunts described previously do not work there because dav section is read-only.
But as they say there is nothing difficult if you know how to do.
Firmware for a series of Chinese cameras DS-2CD1XXX, DS-2CD2XX0, DS-2CD3XX0 same.
Make custom firmware with the decision on the matter.
I am confused by the fact that only the camera processor HI3518

I loaded the DAV file without any TFTP tool, directly from the Web GUI.

I have 5.2.0 on some LTS-security branded cameras I got from milkisbad. All started at 5.1.2. None accepted upgrade in the web UI to 5.1.6 or 5.2.0. I TFTP upgraded two directly to 5.2.0 and TFTP one up to 5.1.6 at which point the UI allowed it to upgrade to 5.2.0. All completely reset to default settings after the TFTP process except for the 3 MP cube which, strangely, reset to factory across the board except for its IP, which it continued to keep as DHCP (it was 5.1.2 prior to going to 5.2.0), so imagine my concern when after the firmware upgrade i couldn't find it at 192.0.0.64 like I could the others, until I saw it was back in the happy 192.168.x.x realm.

i have heard this new FW drops a lot of the motion setting etc. And since it does nothing really to improve the video quality, is it really worth to update from 5.16

I had a DS-2CD3332-I (same as 2332, I think, just different model number but same cam) on 5.1.0. Not sure of the build. This cam was all showing English, but when I tried an english 5.2.0 I got a language mismatch. I never tried forcing the english 5.2.0 via TFTP. The file in first link of this thread in dropbox I got, renamed to digicap.dav (not sure if rename is needed or not), and used the web UI on my 5.1.0 3332 to upgrade. It now boots up exactly as before; all english including day of week.

I installed this on a DS-2CD3332-I via Web Interface, everything is working, but on Mac/Win Chrome/Safari the settings page is blank?!!

From iOS Safari, Mac/Win Firefox it is working.

Strange. I had some earlier issues on 5.2.0 but it was browser specific; worked on IE, but not on Chrome--until I actively hit refresh (F5). Mine was a terrible formatting problem. There was a change to the camera's web layout and some of it is cached in the browser. If that doesn't work, clear out the cache from your browser and see if it helps, but hopefully F5 does it within Chrome.

I checked console and found that Adblock blocked some js (heatmap.js). After disabling Adblock it is working superb. I upgraded from 5.0.2 -> 5.2.0 via the file on the dropbox. Thanks!

Firstly thanks uploader for this convenient fw, I was able to upgrade DS-2CD3132-I camera initially on 5.2.1 fw through tftp and change from chinese only to multi-language a couple weeks ago.

The problem is I recently got a new camera which is same model but manufactured on Nov 28th 2014 and on V5.2.3 build 141024 fw. After installing the raptor firmware, the camera is still in Chinese language only. Did Hik make any changes recently to their cameras that obsolete this fw for multi-language support? And is there any other solution that I can use for the new camera?

Did you try to apply this 5.2 firmware using TFTP or how?
The latest cameras I've bought are all 5.2 and english already, so no experience with what you're describing.

I actually had Chinese camera 2 weeks ago that I could use this fw to bring multi-language. But this new camera is on a later fw initially and failed to make the switch.

yes I used tftp to upgrade the camera to your fw. It works earlier but not any more on a new camera that I just got.

Has anyone else been able to downgrade from 5.2.0 to 5.1.2/5.1.6 through the web interface? Every time I try it says upgrade failed and will not let me downgrade.
