I can think of at least 3 instances on this forum where new member had Nest cams shoved outside and found this forum because they had criminal events and found out the hard way that there lil nest was pretty much entirely worthless..

even most of the cheapest budget (junk) PoE cameras from China kick the shit out of a Nest outside.. they are pretty freaking horrible.

though a bit late, im happy to have found this forum. kinda the same way when i went gung-ho with my entertainment system and thought a BOSE system was the bomb only to be enlightened by a helpful forum such as this.

im thinking about it.. 2 of the 3 i still have time the other one i bought cash at Bed Bath and beyond (long story) but cant find the receipt,so im screwed on this one until i find that receipt.

Except there is a perpetual monthly fee and no 24/7 local monitoring without chewing up bandwidth...Nest is for suckers... Possibly OK in some 1 camera scenarios..

$170 USD, its linked in the first post of the thread, and many more times throughout it.

this guy reportedly has it in stock: Dahua 2MP WDR IR Eyeball Network Camera 1/2.8" H.265&H.264 IP67, PoE Micro SD card memory ip camera IPC HDW5231R Z-in Surveillance Cameras from Security & Protection on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

FYI - This vendor shows he has stock, but if you scroll down the listing he says "Kindly...we currently have no stock" Buyer beware. I only buy from Andy or BEC (Andy?) on AliExpress. I also PM'd the vendor and was advised "No stock until after Chinese New Year".

I dont think anyone has it on hand right now; I agree.. wait and do business w/@EMPIRETECANDY .. Ive bought several cams from him and he's been great to deal with.

Its nice having a reputable AliExpress Dahua vendor, dont have to roll the dice.

one of the things i am extremely leery of. as i may have mentioned before, i have been unlucky with overseas sellers. had DAHUA cameras been available at amazon at the least, i would have been on it..

If the starlight turret ever shows up on Amazon if will cost a lot more and will be de-branded. There are quite a few places you can get Dahua and Hikvision cameras in the US, but nobody has this model most are selling models that came out 2+ years ago.

If all guys buy and can't ship out, this is not good. This camera right now production very slow due to the lack of chips, because here have a very long holiday, 15days at least for the labor workers, so we also have no good way, hope can send out 100pcs before 20th, then i can ship out some.

Sure, that because you guys buy them at a very low cheap price, most Chinese business way is like this, they just consider the selling profit, not consider the cost of warranty or support. So always bad experience if your items have warranty issues or you need support for something. I just act not to be like that Chinese way.lol
