Let me update in a few minutes and ill see if that works. Is 4.4.9.10 a stable version for you?
Yup, curious what version looney2ns is running lol. I can still control the ptz through the dahua android app and the camera web interface so it's not a huge deal, would be nice though.I downloaded 4.4.9.10 on my second computer to test it out first. Still can't get the PTZ function to work on the Starlight PTZ. I can however get my Dahua varifocals to zoom in and out when I change the PTZ Network IP to Dahua HFW2300R-Z/2320R-ZS/81200E.
EDIT: Sorry @hmjgriffon , I thought your post was looney2ns. I'm curious to see what version of BI he is running.
This is my first ptz EVER, and I'm pretty decent with computers, I tried every combination of dahua choices in the drop downs, inspecting, etc, he may be running an older version than we are, I have not looked really hard yet into if there is another way to format the path because the one he gave gets an error. Trying to Google these cameras brings up diddly, that's what you get when you run stuff straight from China though and why forums are great. Perhaps if I googled in Chinese I'd get better results. Dunno if many Chinese people run blue iris though.peback; if grandpa looney can do it.. why cant u?
Why you young whipper snapper you!peback; if grandpa looney can do it.. why cant u?
hey props to being able to operate this technology at your age; let alone climbing up on the roof and installing it.. No wonder your old lady approves; she probably has a good insurance policy out on youWhy you young whipper snapper you!
Yeah, it would be nice if we had a help file that explained what some of the settings did. Some of the settings I'm trying to figure out; Alarm Track Time Under IVS, Anti-Disturb Enable, under Global Setup, Tracking Overlap Rate, Valid Tracking Distance and Valid Tracking Time in Advanced Parameter under Global Setup. I've changed a couple of these settings and it doesn't seem to do much. This is my first ptz EVER, and I'm pretty decent with computers, I tried every combination of dahua choices in the drop downs, inspecting, etc, he may be running an older version than we are, I have not looked really hard yet into if there is another way to format the path because the one he gave gets an error. I'm not THAT old, I cut my teeth on these starting at about age 10-11: WD8AFBhey props to being able to operate this technology at your age; let alone climbing up on the roof and installing it.. No wonder your old lady approves; she probably has a good insurance policy out on you
If the old retiree's in my neighborhood had PTZ's like this I'd never be able to work on my car or house without code enforcement showing up instantly.. nosey old bastards
Thanks, I didn't even see that. The help file explained a little bit but didn't explain all the features under IVS. I'll look at it more tomorrow.have you tried clicking on the lil grey question mark in the upper right hand corner? the built in help usually makes an attempt at explaining it; now if it translates to anything you can comprehend is another issue.
Try using ONVIF in PTZ/Control and check the box right underneath that says use another port :80So, here are my settings and ptz controls don't work in BI lol, also this weird thing where if I run the camera at 15fps I get yellow circle in BI but if I move it to 16fps or higher it's fine, anything under nope. I'm not sure why that would be you'd think it would have issues if the fps were too high. Screen shots below.
Mine looks just like that except the discovery/onvif port is 80This is what I have, with no joy, also I've noticed when I try to view the stream and things with onvif it asks for a username and password even when I turn off onvif authentication.

well that is madening because even when I set the discovery port to 80, I get no signal, check port/user/password.Mine looks just like that except the discovery/onvif port is 80
