What are your plans for a panic room? An underground bunker would be awesome as well.

tell that to Ed Snowden :p
ha haaaa, no basements in Florida, and nearly all of my rooms have windows so, not much possibility for a safe room here. I consider the whole house safe though because you're gonna be dodging .223 and 9mm if you come into it. :)

Installed a GE Dual Tech Motion sensor in the front yard today, I'll take a pic of it later.. seems to work well, got it for $20 from here: New GE Security RCR-REX-G Request To Exit Dual Tech Sensor, Grey | eBay

Its hooked to the Ultra Starlight Bullet and the NVR tells the front door PTZ to go to front yard preset.. It also triggers the Bullets alarm output which is hooked to a Z-Wave dry-contact associated to the front security lights.. a tripwire on the camera will also turn on the lights.. I had a strobe here but I removed it, going to put it someplace else.. Late at night im thinking of turning the mudroom light on to make it look like someone's getting ready to come outside.

ordered new led security lights for around the bay window, they are dusk/dawn w/no motion sensor.. they will turn on at dusk until midnight, then after that the motion sensor or tripwire will turn em back on for 15mins.. should get those installed next week, weather permitting.

Got 7 Outdoor Cameras now, heres's the view in the daytime:

and night time, 2 Starlights deployed.. eventually most of these will be starlights, except perhaps LPR cameras

Will they be Starlight's, or ultra Starlight's?

Microsoft Products are banished from property; so there will be no Blueiris running here anytime soon.
Haha, the blue iris box is my only Windows box at home, I tried zone minder in vain but it's a piece of crap. Dedicated NVRs are limited, I guess if I knew how to program like you It'd be another story but I can swallow running one windows box.

Been away for a little while but haven't stopped peaking in your topic.
Nice as always and very impressive neat server rack i have to say.
hope mine will come out as good as yours !
your knowledge goes far above mine, pity i am mostly pointed to "out of the box" solutions since writing code is not something i do next to some professional copy pasting and hope it works in the end.
Everybody has their strong and weak spots.

great reading though.

4 Starlights down, 2 More to go.. next up I'll put a turret on the back door/patio then start saving up for a black face starlight.

Im now recording in h265 for all cameras that support it, I'm back over 3 weeks of retention even w/all the new cameras.. the new front door camera is going to get a recessed contact switch in the door and the pressure mat wired directly to the camera on alarm1, alarm2 will be wired to a contact switch in my parcel box; the old z-wave contact switch on the pressure mat will be wired to the output so the camera can directly turn on the external security lights.

Im thinking of producing a show-off video once I get all these upgraded, showing all the sensors/activation and auto-tracking across the board.

I'd love to see some tutorials on hooking stuff up to the alarm ins and outs
