I have a DS-2CD2142FWD-I with firmware version 5.4.4. I'm trying to use Rotate Mode (corridor mode?) (Hikvision USA) but I don't have the option to turn it on. Any ideas?noRotate.png

Tried with capture on and off, both on PAL and NTSC. Also tried turning off scheduled image switch.

So, since this is a dome, why not just go pull the dome and rotate the lens? I get it would be nice to figure out the "why" of the software issue, but for a quick fix just go pull the housing and turn it :)

The point of rotate mode is so you can frame your shot at 9:16 instead of 16:9. In other words, I HAVE rotated the lens to frame a long corridor. But without software, I have to turn my head sideways to view it.

If I rotated the lens back 90 degrees I'd only be looking at half of my subject. The photos in the hikvision link sort of illustrate this. Make sense?

Just figured it out. If you disable H.264+ (Configuration > Video/Audio > H.264+), Rotate Mode becomes possible.

The rotate mode does not work for me as well, for camera DS-2CD2183G0-I(S) with firmware v5.5.51. I've tried disabling H.264+ but the feature remains disabled. The manual of the camera doesn't say anything about it, it actually explains you can rotate and mirror the video image. Does anyone know what to do? I couldn't find anything about it except this thread.

I know this is an old post - but google brings you here, so I'm posting an update in the hope that it helps someone else.

I've just had the same issue and tried the above- but on my 7208HUHI-k1

I upgraded the firmware to the latest I could find for the DVR, Ensured I was running the latest version of Ivms 4200.. the menu option then somewhere in those upgrades got renamed to "Corridor mode" - Didn't change anything

I tried disabling 264 / 265 but don't think thats feasable on this model.. - Didn't change anything

Disabled capture - Didnt change anything - Need to re-enable that before I forget!

Anyway the fix for me was there is a little control on the cable for the camera - I had to go back to the camera and bring up the on screen display using that button and under the menu options there I could Flip / Mirror / Rotate - whatever you want to call it..

Slightly frustrating that I was unable to do it via the software - but not as frustrating as my neighbors driveways being in the wrong place!

FWIW these are the turbo HD cameras so 5mp over coax.

Cheers

@david_wallis,

That is normal behaviour. Your camera is not an IP camera, it is an analog camera, so it does not have any web interface.

You could have done it anyway from the DVR/XVR, by bringing up the OSD menus on the camera, They can be used remotely, when using the live view, like if you were controlling a PTZ camera.

I thought I'd been able to do that years ago - but I cannot find a way of bringing the menu up through live view
