Just wanted to start this poll because 100s of cheaper manufactures out there. I have bought from some and noticed instant fog on cams, horrible support etc. But some are actually pretty good cams less than half of Dahua/Hikvision with similar specs.

Yeah sure maybe no IVS advanced functions but great image quality and support on most cams. Perfect for a cheap setup with middle/high reliability.

*Please reply to this thread and I will include your manufacture name in poll.

none of those cams will give you middle/high reliability...specs are often meaningless.

Ive got a number of inexpensive Geovision cameras installed in a few areas around a business. The 2mp indoor domes are worth it, no advanced features but the IQ is pretty good for a $80 camera and they have been dead nuts reliable. I've got a few of their outdoor 2mp bullets up as well, they're no starlights, but they're mounted in areas with decent visible light illumination and I have no issues with the nighttime image. Made in Taiwan for what it's worth.

Geovision is not what you would call a cheapo camera brand like longse..Geovision is an established brand. 80 bux for an indoor 2mp dome is not "cheapo"

spend the extra money and get a quality camera with a quality image...it boggles my mind when i see folks try to save a few dollars then spend hours troubleshooting and dealing with crappy images....cheap cameras are just that...
3-4mp is not always better than 2mp often time the image quality is worse...start doing some research and learn..

So far Dahua have been pretty reliable. But for a 2mp cam, around $130.

Dahua and Hikvision cost more, but are backed by years of research and development, and thus more reliable. The peace of mind that comes with this reliability is worth the price difference.

The only inexpensive manufacturer other than Hik and Dahua I would trust is TVT, which sells under different names in US. (the old Q-See analog stuff used to be made by them) so they have been in the industry for a good while.

For a 2MP camera to cost that much, it must have the new larger Sony sensor inside of it (which kicks butt in low-light situations), which makes it best-of-class. I've only seen Dahua and Hikvision making cameras with that newer sensor in them.
