Additional BF deals from Lorex
Black Friday Sale - home security systems and cameras

Note Lorex / FLIR appears to have switched off the IVS options in the Lorex branded line, and is using motion detection options instead

Aha, ok, will think about this, I will post some info for this very soon. We start from 11.23-26th, all purchasing will do more discount, i am thinking for cams do 8-10% off for all dahua, NVR little heavy and if more discount, will lost money, all transaction should be through pay pal or on our shop, i will make a link then.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is January 15th Andy. I assume that is what you mean by the black holiday . This Friday is black Friday. Honestly I think he was close enough @Q™
oh, sorry, should be the black Friday. lol... I will do some discount too.haha.

Hi Andy,

The deals during Black Friday in the USA are significantly better in terms of % off compared to 11.11

Each year it seems to start a bit earlier, and with a big peak on Thursday ( Thanksgiving Day ) to Friday. Cyber Monday follows but is not as big.

Example - In the store there is a Frying pan I really like. Normally they say they want $80.. often on sale for $60, sometimes even $40. On Thursday I got it for $20 last year.

Technology % off is not so large as that, still significantly good. You can look at the Lorex 4K security camera kits to get an idea.

Matt, i will do that, buy kits can do more discounts, i will make all guys happy.

I watched a video on Youtube from Backstreet surveillance,...and the guy said Lorex was made of cheap plastic. Are these really metal OEM Dahua that Andy or B&H would sell?
Also,...are these cameras comparable to the highly rated Dahua 5231's?

Hi CJ555,

I saw that video also, the truth...

Let's take GM - or Ford - or ..

They brand everything from cheap cars to expensive cars.. even trucks, tanks,...

So like that Lorex has cheaper plastic cameras.. and then really nice metal hardware.

So far one thing I have noticed mentioned is that they do not support Dahua IVS in their product line, maybe this is something FLIR wants to keep in the more expensive products.

Got ya. Thanks mat!
Still haven't decided on exactly which system to go with, but I was curious cause that is a nice sale!
Hopefully Nelly's will have some BF sales and can just stick to my original game plan. Been researching my butt off and now have like 24000 bookmarks on my computer!!!
Learning a lot but still think I am one of those guys who may need tech support over the phone even though this site alone could answer all my questions. (But after having an expensive piece of equipment stolen -even though not at my house- I really want a system ASAP and can only learn/retain so much in such a short time frame!!)
But thanks again for those links you sent me,....they helped a lot and I am pretty sure 1/2 of my bookmarks were from links from them, and then links from them,... etc etc!!

How good is 4K though? The more I think about it I remember reading that sometimes more MP's isn't always good, possibly not as good in low light situations. Pretty sure I read somewhere that Hikvisions 2MP's performed better than some of their 3 or 4 MP cameras. Again ,..I have been in research overload but I am "pretty sure" I read that correctly?!!
Would you guys recommend a 4k system over anything else if cost was not a major concern I do realize 4k is probably a big upgrade to most other MP's but haven't gotten around to researching 4k cameras/NVRs ,.....YET!

Hi CJ555,

Right now, I would look at a mix of 4K and Starlight cameras. I really like the starlights I have, however in a couple of areas I would like to have some 4K cameras to give me better ID range with a wider FOV during the DAY.

Thinking about doubling up the number of cameras covering the front of the property, and getting more pixels to cover the street traffic.

Do you know of or could you point me to sample video? I must be an idiot or my google-fu has failed me repeatedly. There's just a few videos out there, all from Lorex. And trying to match what might be firmware crippled (Flir is known for that) is practically impossible without a forensic investigation (aka, buy one).

Although a coworker did just buy a set. Maybe I'll finagle a camera or two to screw around with.

Hi Purduephotog,

There's a link in my notes to the thread on the lorex / dahua oem 4k kit deal at Costco.

Also @CPO just posted a quick intro / review:
[videos] [install] LOREX (Dahua) LNR6826K 4K System from Costo

See post #9 in that thread for the link to the thread I mention above. IMHO it is a very nice value, and with 2 available ports you can add 2 really nice starlights to it.

If you decide you want to further customize your security camera setup you can use those cameras with Blue Iris down the road... lots of options here.

If you have a bigger budget, of course there are lots of great options to custom configure your own kit, and giomania and I have put together notes to help others out with that.
