Hoping some folks can help...

I'm wanting a camera for my downstairs back patio, it'd be a security camera;
But is equally important for recording exercise sessions & doing remote PT sessions.
As that space has been converted to a Home Gym.

Requirements are as follows...

(1)
Excellent Image Quality & a wide FOV (horizontal & vertical)
(2)
Decent audio capture abilities (field-array mic?)
(3)
Can P/T/Z as the subject moves, & not be confused if there's a 2nd subject standing nearby
Can encircle the subject to look at it from behind & the sides, not just the front or above
(4)
Hopefully not heaps more than $500USD, absolute limit of $1kUSD

(5)
Can be powered via A/C + Ethernet (not just PoE)
(6A)
Can transmit recordings via quality WiFi (not just Ethernet)
OR
(6B)
At the very least record to mSD/SD or some other local storage medium

If there's 1 or more model that satisfies points 1 to 4 but not 5, then I guess I can forget the latter.
If it/they also can't do 6A or B, then I guess I can forget them too...

But I really hope it/they can meet at least some of the points beyond 1 to 3!

If it's too hard to meet all of 3, then maybe just these elements:
Can P/T/Z as the subject moves... (on refection, it doesn't matter if it won't always focus on the subject, as the other person will be close to subject most of the time anyway!)
Can encircle the subject to look at it from behind & the sides, not just the front or above (maybe do-able with 2 or 3 well-positioned cams?)

If it helps...
Later I'll link to a video of the space, & I'll try to get some rough dimensions of the entire space?
Surely there's something out there that comes substantially close to what I want!

Thank-you.

These come fairly close, & the pricing isn't eye watering:
Reolink RLC-423S - 5MP PTZ PoE IP Security Camera
Reolink RLC-423WS - 5MP Pan Tilt Zoom WiFi Camera

But it seems only the PoE version can Pan/Tilt/Zoom in the direction of the subject?

Nope the matrix was wrong, the product page confirms that the WiFi version also does Pan/Tilt/Zoom!
I wish the PoE version did WiFi too, or they at least offered a SKU that does both (at least there's local recording)!
And I wish the PoE version also had A/C-in + Eth, not just PoE!
Their pre-sales is retarded so they may've misunderstood what I'm asking, but they seemed to confirm it does do A/C-in + Eth, not just PoE!

you are dreaming...3 cannot be done...you need a human with a movable camera or two cameras (with human control)
5a/5b would require a home made solution...

Removed some of the requirements, as upon reflection they seemed silly/redundant.

Still having an issue with editing the OP, for some changes it lets me make them;
But for others it gives that "spam" error message, what's that about...

Is there something that meets 1-2, & maybe some of the other points, & gets fairly close with 3?

Thanks again.
its about an algorithm to protect against spamming...
use a video camera...its designed for this....no tracking will have no way of knowing the difference between you and another person or object.

Well, that much is obvious... o_O:) <--I think it's stopped bugging my edits, must've been a newb thing!

Jury-rigging a video camera is no good. I did say not all of 3 has to be met, maybe just these elements:
Can Pan/Tilt/Zoom as the subject moves... (on refection, it doesn't matter if it won't always focus on the subject, as the other person will be close to subject most of the time anyway!)
Can encircle the subject to look at it from behind & the sides, not just the front or above (maybe with 2 or 3 well-positioned cams?)

If you're confident there's no product or methodology/workaround that can meet 3, or get close;
Then forgetting 3, what out there meets most -if not all- of my remaining points?

Thanks again/GN.

Hi SaulJH

I've seen ads for cameras designed for youtubers which claim that it can do what you are looking for, however I do have some seriously doubts about the reliability of such claims.

The latest ad I saw was for a product call mevo ( getmevo.com ) it is currently a 1st gen product - and thus my doubts are very high that it can do well what is being advertised.

Note, the mevo is not a security camera per se - so even if it can do the PTZ follow you functions you probably would still want a good security camera.

Thanks mat200 for the friendly/helpful input, it's really appreciated...:)
It may not be necessary that it follows a subject, so long as it records sessions decently who cares, right!?

So mat200 or any other regulars here at IPCT....
From all of my original requirements for 3, we have just these elements left:
(a) Can P/T/Z as the subject moves, & not be confused if there's a 2nd subject standing nearby
(b) Can encircle the subject to look at it from behind & the sides, not just the front or above

Could (b) be achieved with 2-4 cameras? If it's still too clunky & fast getting expensive, lemme know & I'll drop it too.
So taking out this component, as well as possibly (b) (unless it's doable w.o. getting too complicated/kludgey/expensive), what are my best options IYHO?

Surely I've now scratched enough stuff that was excluding some of the better options out there!
If not, please ignore point 3 (except for Can P/T/Z) & suggest some models based on my remainingrequirements.

Do you guys still want a video & rough dimensions of the space, would that help?

*UPDATE*

That Mevo's pretty damn cool, wish it had PoE, looks like you can kinda perma-mount it too.
It comes very close to meeting all of my requirements, no auto P/T/Z though by the looks?
Then again maybe that doesn't matter, assuming theirauto-pilotfeature works well in practice?
Only problem is it probably wouldn't be terribly functional as sec camera?

And my budget would be just about blown after getting it + accessories!

Just use SD1A203T-GN this new ptz is good enough to use, better to power via POE, this is easy for installation, or else you have to arrange another cable for the power adapter...

PoE would be my primary source of power/data, but having A/C-in + Eth &or WiFi is handy too;
As there's a no. of locations on premises, where power-points are already conveniently placed.

But the most important requirements/qualities for me are 1-4...
If points 1/2/4 are satisfied & 3 partly (if not mostly), then I'm happy to put up w.a PoE only device -if that's the only option.

IPC-HDW5231R-Z is good enough, it has built in mic and sharp pics. Lens 2.7mm~12mm
