Darn it, feels like a half-baked product, couldn't integrate this with existing Dahua facilities.
Is there a way to manually add the same IP and change the Channel Number to 2 instead of Default 1?

Yet it recognizes there are two channels.

Just spent an hour and I have not found a way to view the second channel in SmartPSS, even tho there is an option to change the Channel number in SPSS Device config.

As these are only listed under Mobile & Traffic subject section on Dahua's site, that means that is the sole market they are targeting, https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/allProducts/4472/406?tab=4652&subtab=541 that they have Mobile NVRs' that would make use of the second channel out of the box. NON mobile NVRs either don't have the ability yet, or they don't intend for a normal NVR to make use of the 2nd channel. But this group being rebels, we need to try. ;)

I'll mess with the NVR I have when I get a chance to see if I can find anything.

But I must say the image quality is on par if not exceeding some of the other mini-dome models :)

Some video samples. All videos recorded by BI, and exported from same.
The camera is set to factory defaults.
Nothing has been adjusted except turning off the noise filter in the audio.
Some of the background noise you hear is my air conditioner running.

I feel this cam has basically the same video quality as all the other Starlights. YMMV.

Be sure to chose 1080p in the Youtube player

This looks like it could make a nice front door camera. I want a camera aimed at the approach to my door, but that wouldn't be able to see someone standing right at the door, nor see packages. This could do both in one package.

I wouldn't call this 2 separate cameras until I'm able to view them separately within the NVR and SmartPSS. @EMPIRETECANDY Any idea what can be done here?

I like how you basically have 2 separate cameras, in one housing. Very nice initial review @looney2ns, much appreciated.

@EMPIRETECANDY - When will these be available, and how much? Thanks.

As stated above, in my opinion, this is obviously aimed at the mobile market, and intended to be used with a mobile NVR.

I was not able to find a way to see the 2nd channel in the 4xxx NVR that I have, either.

But it is running just fine in Blue Iris, TinycamPro & Webgui.

Is your NVR on the latest firmware? If not, small chance it might be a feature added later... I thought I saw something about channels in my 5216 but I sold it awhile ago so I can’t check.

I see the option to change the channel, but when clicking it only shows channel 1, no other channel number appears as an option. I’m using the latest firmware Andy posted here a short while ago

i checked with dahua today, they said can work with the smartpss, but you guys tested can't work, i will follow up later this weekend, dahua guys too busy.
If they can get it to work with NVR too that’d be great (perhaps in newer firmware)

I'm sure it won't happen, but I'd like to see a 6mm + 2.8mm versions of this camera. The use case is probably far too niche, but it would make an ideal front door cam.

Would that make the “boobies” two different sizes?

One thing this camera has going for it is the odd appearance that might cause people to look directly at it, increasing your odds of facial recognition!
