Now they're less feral.
And you're more feral, lol!
They have the bed staked out. They appear to be saying "YOU go sleep in the box!"
Some people make pets of squirrels and raccoons, by definition "feral"

He's a real pain in the ass sometimes, so we shaved him a pom-pom tail to rank on him. We're thinking of giving him a Cat Mohawk if he doesn't behave himself.
OMG, that's hilarious, poor kitty though. Looks like he's part poodle! My cat sends his sympathy to Andy.

Let me tell you this: Andrew is fearless. Born feral, he climbed into a my engine compartment and took a 90 mile ride before Honda technicians extracted him from a spot between the bumper and engine fan. Taken to a no-kill shelter (who fostered him until he was old enough for adoption) Andy, came into our house fearing nothing. No brother...Andy don’t need no sympathy...

Wow, that is amazing! I can't believe he survived all that, no wonder he's so fearless! We adopted our 2 cats from a no-kill shelter but I'm not sure of their background. They were only 8 weeks old when we got them. They were brother and sister. The girl was the sweetest cat ever. The boy on the other hand was a total brat. We lost the girl 2 years ago to illness, and still have Mickey. He's 18 years old now, and even though he's slowed down a lot, he still managed to kill a field mouse that got into our house a few weeks ago.

That sounds like a traumatic car ride!
How did he not die?
Was the tech surprised to find a cat or did you purposely drive the car with the cat 8n the engine bay?!

This was my rescue not long after I'd caught the 3 kittens and then brought mum in. The tortoiseshell never settled but she's on a farm now and happy, mum went to my ex and I still have the boys who are now around 2.5 years old.

A later pic from one of the indoor cameras while I was out with the boys cuddled up on my bed
And a recent one of the tabby - he'd injured his right eye so had to wear that cone for a few days and have eye drops, 2 small punctures to his cornea poor thing. Really annoyed him as it kept catching on things as he moved around, so he took to reversing out when he wanted to turn. They so don't look elegant when reversing lol

And the beat goes on. Three (3) cats from our feral colony have now tried the shelter, including "Ms. B" who took shelter during a rainstorm and came back to take another nap. This is good news, if they become used to it in summer they certainly will use it in the winter, especially after I add heat...

@EMPIRETECANDY...the camera in the above video is the Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-AS 2MP 3.6mm Starlight IR Mini Dome you sold me; it is mounted above one of the doors at the end of the cat shelter (there is a cat door on each end of the cat shelter). However, I would like to "roof-mount" a camera so I can see cats come into -- and out of -- both end doors. What camera do you recommend for this Andy?

seems the cat house big narrow, i am thinking to use a fisheye? 180 degrees? But this one no IR light.

might be best to close mount into one of the top corners then you can use a lens with say 110 degree view and cover both entry points and the ground area.

I think I'll try @Aengus4h's idea first. I'll try to set this up later today.

Gorilla Tape is a wonderful thing.

Andy, I could use external IR lighting. How many pixels is your fisheye? I like the idea of 5+ megapixel which would allow me to zoom in to inspect a cat for injury.

In addion., I csn install electrical next to the shelter, and as a result I could also install a single LED (always on) bulb inside the Shelter...so perhaps I don't need in-camera IR.

I also like the idea of being able to PTZ to inspect the cats while they are in the shelter.

Andy, what roof mount PTZ cameras would you recommend?

Perhaps one of those Dahua dome PTZs?
