PoE from switch through wall socket

sorry if this is a dumb question ..

Does PoE carry through walk sockets ? So a cable connected from the PoE switch into a wall socket, and a cable from the camera terminated in the back of that wall socket .. I am guessing this don’t work but thought I’d check ?

By "wall socket" do you mean a keystone ie network jack? If so, then yes POE will go through it fine as long as its properly terminated. This is how structured cabling in businesses is done.

If you're referring to Powerline networking, then the answer is no.

If you mean an RJ45 socket, and not a power-line ethernet adaptor - yes, POE will be fine with that.

Hmm .. must have just terminated it wrong, it would only connect the camera when using a crimped end. Could be the socket itself, I do have another so can test with that.
