We’re a thrifty family. My in laws live in the same subdivision and f-i-l wanted us to put L.o.S. antennas on our houses with T-1 to save $ on our internet use! But our hoa says only small tv dishes are allowed.

View attachment 32507 I get what you mean. Nobody in town was able to help me with the pin-out issue of my 1st camera. So, it just sits waiting for me to do something with it. Seriously, the molex just crumbled when I was connecting it and the wires didn’t lay out in any manner that could be considered straight. So not only did I have a password to try to get rid of, I had 8 wires that i still don’t know what to do with. I think that happened in Feb.
Unless you can get your hands on the schematics or an identical cam its gonna be tough.

Yep, the other camera’s wires were all black and nobody has a tear-down of it. Bummer.

If you have an upstairs window and they have an upstairs window, you can mount them in the windows.

The closest thing I have that faces them is a decorative copper vent in the front of my house. The only line of sight would have to be higher up on a pole. It’s sad, because I’ve installed them at plenty of businesses and can’t at my own house. I was one of those goofs who made cantennas before paying for my own high-speed!

Sorry for the delay, we just had a small kitchen fire to put out at some dummy’s house. It’s never a good idea to take a nap with food on the stove.

Yeah those LOS antenna systems are sweet I'm waiting for the time that I need to install some ubiquiti nano stations. I've been thinking of buying a pair just to learn how to set them up.

What brand do you prefer? Everyone seems to be raving about the Ubiquiti stuff.

I’ve only used Black Box & Cisco ones in the field and I have Engenius bridges in my house.

@Keving What state are you in and could you post some pics that aren't so close up of the inside? We have a couple of these in the field and may be able to help with a repair through Dahua if needed.

I have. IE was the same as with the PSS, I could access with IP and log in with default, but same message about resource limited, video failed where he media would be. I bought it from someone on eBay who said they had “no power supply, so they couldn’t test it”. It wouldn’t have worked for them anyway, since all of the molex connectors were never connected. The inside of the dome and he camera parts looked super clean and untouched.
The other camera I got (DH-SD6C230U-HNI), that had a previous password...I tried to open it up to find pins to cross to reset, and the 6-conductor molex disintegrated in my hand. I have no idea what the pin-out is and the wires are (1) black, (1) red, (2) blues, and (2) yellows. No one was able to help me with that debacle, so I bought the present one. (I was hoping the newer one would have those same wires, but they were all black. Ugh!!!). So I’m stuck with 2 kind of high dollar cameras that I still can’t use. There are no businesses in this area that knows ANYTHING about cameras except selling them and maybe installing them.
You may need to go into your program files and delete the webrec file, then reinstall it from the camera. Make sure that you have all of your active-x settings enabled in your internet options settings. Sometimes this file gets corrupted when its downloaded.

Hello?, the DH-SD6ALA230FN-HNI and DH-SD6C230U-HNI are Starlight cameras. I haven’t been able to get either to work right. That was totally my plan, if I got them to work.
You have both 2 cams have same problem Resource is limited. Open video failed??? This happen on the webpage or even on smartpss? Delete the old version(s) of the plugin and rerun as Administrator any browser you use. We met this before, but mainly the plugin issues, have you ever try to upgrade the firmware? They are bit old now.
Also can refer to this link.

I’m in Tennessee. I’ll see if I have any better photos or I’ll open it back up Thursday. I won’t be home until then.

No, just 1 camera has the “resource limited” problem, the other camera was “pulled from a working environment” and had a login/password on it that I didn’t know, and no help from the vendor. I went to look for pins to short to attempt a factory default and when I unplugged the 6-conductor molex, it fell to pieces and I couldn’t tell in what order pin-out the wires were. I bought new 6-pin female molex connectors but I have no idea how the 6 wires go.

Ok, party people, there was a micro coaxial cable on the sd6alafn-hni!!! I found a connector on the main board with the sd slot, and another on the interface board on the back of the camera. I connected them and all of the other connections, closed it up, crossed my fingers, and put power to it. Nothing. Not a hum, not a startup mode, and then the undeniable smell of dreams being crushed by something electric burning. I believe I put one end of that micro coax upside down and shorted 3 pins in the middle of it. I checked and 1 end fell out of its connection and really didn’t want to stay in. I tested it again, temporarily taping the ends of the little micros and the power came on and it started up. I went ahead and held the reset button just in case, and after a a minute, it came up with the default ip address. AND I HAD A PICTURE where I previously had the error message!!! Unfortunately the hue, saturation, and color are bad no matter how I adjust them, the exposure, contrast, brightness...all of it. It wants to be mostly red, mostly blue, or mostly green, with no good in between. Any thoughts? It is also possible that I had that micro coaxial in correctly but my polarity reversed on the power supply

wtf....try this, run 120v right into the camera, it will clear everything right up and end your misery.

Nice. It was a mix of my excitement, hoping that’s all it was and rushing because one of my techy coworkers had to leave. Total negligent brain fart on my part. It was a crushing blow there for a while. Do you think the pins on the cable would distort the image color?

Posts from some of you guys on previous questions about the colors/hue being bad said it could be the ir sensor not engaging. Does anyone know if it has its own controller or cable? I also was unable to zoom in or out with logging in through IE.
Thanks again!
