Out of the box my camera was set to Central time and I choose the option to sync to PC to get it to the correct time. I keep having to back and reselect this option. Does anyone know what I need to do to keep this from happening over and over again?

Here's what I do to solve this issue...

Login to each camera, navigate to "System > Time Settings" and set "Time Sync." to the IP address of your Blue Iris server. Set "NTP Port" to “123” and "Interval" as desired. Then install this "NetTime" timer server utility on your Blue Iris Server...

NetTime - Network Time Synchronization Tool

Problem solved! :)

Believe it or not the time zones all say GMT but I just selected the time that was 2 hours prior and it seems to work. When I saw everything time zone showing GMT I was confused, assuming GMT was supposed to stand for General Mountain Time??

Tried this and still no dice for me. I'm only having trouble with the most recent camera I've added. No matter what I do the time will not stay synced.

Here is what mine looks like on Dahua. The BI server is 192.168.523.60 and I have it update every 20 minutes.

you need to allow port 123 udp through your firewall
In incoming I opened 123 UDP. Changed my settings in camera to update every minute to see if it worked. Still not syncing.

have you double checked the ip of the ntp server?
to clarify your other post, are all your other cameras syncing properly?

I have the IP of the NTP server inside the camera set as my BI server IP...is that correct?

I just looked at the others and they are not synced but they haven't ever lost time so they are close. The new camera is showing me 10/07/2017 00:08:xx

yes if nettime is running on the server
did you check the box in nettime that says allow other computers to sync to this server?
