I might grab one. I’m deciding on the sd49225 or just adding a few cameras instead.

It looks like it’s a Starvis sensor so I’d be interested in how well in performs over my current 8mp Lorex lnb8005 cams.

Well I've spent more money on lesser quality cameras, I don't think I can pass up this price and either keep as a backup or use in a location with plenty ambient street lighting. I'm slowly upgrading a Q-see system to better quality Dahua cameras that better suit the location they're in. Starlights in back and maybe the new 1/1.8 sensor cameras in front.

I just purchased it  thanks for the post @mat200

Which camera model are you looking at with the 1/1.8”?

I might pick up a ipc-hfw1831e from empire with the 1/2” sensor. I have about 10k lumens of light on the front of the house, so light isn’t an issue unless I’m looking far.

I had been looking at this one for the front of my property since it has decent street lighting. IPC-HFW2831T-ZS
The back of the property is no light. I just purchased and installed my first decent quality camera HDW5231R-ZE (I didn't know anything about what I was looking at when I got my Q-See system).
Andy posted the Dahua Q3 2018 product catalog Dahua Q3 Catalog for the IP Video Product 201808
I see a lot of upgrade prospects, I guess there goes the Christmas bonus check.

Any other good Cyber-Monday finds?
Lots...

Nelly's Security has a nice list of deals - one nice thing is that you can get a kit from them w/the option of selecting 1000' of cat5e cable!
They also have some deals, as usual, in their garage sale section
Cyber Monday - Nelly's Security

Montavue has a number of nice Dahua OEM kits, looks like original Dahua OEM firmware.
Some of the nicer 8MP turret kit deals have sold out.
They do have some deals on POE switches worth looking at.
BLACK FRIDAY | Montavue

UPS on Amazon:
CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD Intelligent LCD UPS System, 1500VA/900W, 12 Outlets, AVR, Mini-Tower
by CyberPower
for "cyberpower battery backup"
Was: $144.95
Deal of the Day: $109.95 & FREE Shipping. Details
https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP1500AVRLCD-Intelligent-Outlets-Mini-Tower/dp/B000FBK3QK

LaView has a number of deals - this one is probably the most interesting for people here:
1080P Video Doorbell WiFi IP Camera
SKU LV-PDB1520F1
reg: $179.00 Cyber Monday: $70.00
LaView HD IP Security LV-PWF80216-W

Lorex has some nice deals on 8 channel kits and 4 cameras also.. though their Dahua OEM products do not have IVS features in them. ( should be fine for most Blue Iris users )
in particular this one has 4 nice 8MP bullet cameras ( they seem to do more deals on bullets and not many on turrets ) - 2x varifocal, 2x 8MP 30fps.. see kit 4KHDIP822

Amcrest also has some deals on POE switches worth looking at.

Amcrest UltraHD 4K (8MP) Outdoor Bullet POE IP Camera.
when posters here call this a "Dahue OEM" precisely which Dahua camera does this Amcrest 4K Bullet resemble the most - internally at least

does being a "Dahue OEM" also mean you can apply Dahue's firmware and/or camera client software management apps to work with this Amcrest?

Hi Consorts -

IPC-HFW = IP Camera - F = bullet
x8xx = 8MP

So IPC-HFWx8xx for starters.

It is not a varifocal - so not 5xxx
Also not that expensive - so not 8xxx

Maybe a 4xxx - that is maybe IPC-HFW48xx - according to the spec sheet they sent me it included IVS features. ( you have to chat with their reps to get the spec sheet as it is not listed on their products page )

PIR - most cameras we're buying here do not have PIR. I think PIR is over rated at this time.

good news - my amcrest 4k shipped, so i should have it this weekend to play with.

sadly i didn't rush my microsd and related purchases thinking it would take longer
so i'll probably pull the 128gb u3 out of my phone, back that up, and use it for now.
i'm sure i'm going to hate amcrest's too wide 2.8mm lense, so i'm already preparing
to DIY swap it myself. i hope the visual field triggers test out well on this camera.

will know soon enough...

Here’s a quick shot I took of my 4K Lorex lnr8005 vs the 4K amcrest IP8M-2496EB-2. The Lorex is used a 1/2.5” sensor with a 4mm Lens at 88deg viewing angle. I couldn’t find what sensor the amcrest used, only that it’s starvis with a 2.8mm lens at 112deg viewing angle.

Fourier, thanks for confirming my worst fears - that i'm going to hate having that wide frame distorted 2.8mm lens in my amcrest. i'd order a 4mm or 6mm already (may take a few weeks to arrive) but i want to wait till i have it in my hand disassembled before probably getting it wrong. my amcrest will be mounted between trees, so i already know too wide will waste half my field of view with wind moving branches. here are the two lenses i'm probably going to try. (i'm new at this, so nobody take my word for these working yet);

amcrest's original lens appears to be from it's specs; M12 2.8mm F1.6 5MP
4mm 5MP 1/2.5" HD IR Sensitive M12 Camera Lens | eBay M12 4mm F1.8 5MP
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019S2X4JO M12 6mm F2.0 5MP
btw, i actually emailed amcrest twice (directly and thru amazon) and they do not
stock a 4.0mm lens or version of this camera even though it's available in the specs,
ICIP-B8310-IR
and seems to be resold at 4mm in a white casing by yet another dahua oem :wtf:
(yes, i know icrealtime keeps contradicting itself - clueless oem proofreading)

@Fourier

Hows the capture of subjects moving in the field of view look between the 2?

Thank you

I never uploaded footage but I can try and add a clip of the two cameras with s car driving by. I leave motion recording off on my front door and driveway cams to avoid the glitching but this camera has it on. It results in seeing half of the cars journey as it warps by.

I typically trim clips in the idmss app and then convert them on the computer to mp4, is there a better way? I assume they’re full resolution as playback is pulling the main stream.

so far i can report the h.265 encryption on this ip cam is a major fail - too much frame skip and ghosting to be used on a regular movement area.
i settled on h.264h 2560*1440 25pfs for now, but will need another 18 hours (for daylight time) to reach any preliminary conclusion on this ip cam.
if anyone's curious, you can still get 25fps as high as 3072x1728 before you need to reduce your fps.
tomorrow daytime i'll test street sign legibility ~60' from my test window, which should help prove if the higher resolutions are real or mere placebo.
Dahau's Smart PSS does work with this Amcrest, and is twice as encode efficient on your cpu cores as ie11 (no surprise)
but some Amcrest screens only seem to work correctly using their client or web gui, such as camera/encode/overlay/privacy mask.
no matter what i tried, i could not get this June'2018 firmware Amcrest to accept Dahau's Oct'2018 update, so a lot of IVS may still be missing here
and yes, i did "register" for firmware update access with Amcrest, and they latest download is the same June'2018 as the new camera has, so no joy.
i was able to get iSpy 64bit to live stream this camera (less cpu efficiently than SmartPSS does), others will have to tell you of Blue Iris success.
