In the last week I stumbled across this site and quickly became increasingly hooked! I’ve just scratched the surface but but the support feedback looks amazing. I recently installed a small IP cam system at our house, wish I knew of this site beforehand! I wanted to add an additional IP cam with more features and saw numerous positive posts on this site about the Dahua 5531R-ZE 2MP so a couple days ago I ordered one. I’m hoping I didn’t make a huge mistake but the add said “free upgrade overseas version”. Impact ??? The cam picture indicates it has the Dahua logo. Once I receive this am I in for nothing but trouble try to get this to work with my current NVR?

A: Depends on your current NVR model on how well a Dahua OEM camera will work with it. If the NVR is also Dahua OEM then it should work with a little bit of configuration setup. If your NVR supports ONVIF - also it should work to some degree with some configuration setup.

Mat200, Thank you much for your quick reply. My NVR is a Clearview and states that it does support ONVIF. The IPcam is not due to arrive until 12/29 so I won’t know for a few weeks or so. I’m guessing this long product arrival time is typical when ordering from overseas.

Hi Johnny,

Depends on who you order it from, and if you go the slow cheap shipping route where the USPS pays for the shipping or if you go the DHL route where you pay for the shipping. ( well, guess you end up paying the USPS when they lose money on the shipping somehow.. )
