Hi all, I am new to Blue Iris so I may have missed something, but does anyone know if it is possible to set up alerts (specifically for mobile push notifications) to trigger only when a certain area of a camera is triggered? I am aware of hot spots and masking zones, but I am talking about having the camera record movement detection as per usual, but then the ability to set up an alert if someone has gone past a certain point on the camera.

For example in a driveway situation, camera will detect movement and record if someone is at the top of the driveway, but if they then came down the driveway past a certain point you would receive a push notification on your phone.

I found that this could be accomplished by having 2 instances of the same camera in Blue Iris, and then setting up masking to suit and enabling alerts on only one of them, but is this going to affect the performance of the camera? Is there an alternative way to do this that I have overlooked?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum...you are using the proper method...cloning the cameras is the only way to do it..it will not affect the camera performance as blue iris is smart enough to only pull a single stream...if you wish you can hide the camera so that you dont have a duplicate camera displaying on the screen...camera properties>general hidden ----then right click on a black portion of the display area and uncheck display hidden cams...

Thank you very much for your help and the fast response! Good to know that it will still only be a single stream and not affect performance. Thanks again!
