I figured out there is an even higher end model. The SD10A848WAN-HNF.

It appears on the international website but the datasheet lists the NTSC version. Andy says it will take about 45 days to acquire one. A quick summary of improvements I noted are:

48x over 40x: Fov better on both extremes

100,000 shutter speed over 30,000

.001 minimum illumination over .002

zoom priority and smartir ir on/off

max aperture 4.5 not 4.8

semi auto focus control

starlight + not starlight

smd plus

It is even bigger and weighs 10lbs more!

Can't wait to see what that 48x will do!

Edit: Sorry, now I better understand the previous wiper discussion so I was repetitive below.

Seems to me with digital zoom, and at equivalent resolution, 48x becomes 96x when compared to a 2mp sensor.

Replacement wipers are certainly a valid question, I just now see that "smart wiper technology that supported by rain sensor" might be a partial answer to automatically clearing the lens using blueiris.

What I would like to see is a Dahua PTZ about the size of a DH-PTZ1A225U-IRA-N with the new 1/1.8" sensor and 4mp. I would buy two of them.

While I am dreaming maybe one with a 4/3" sensor and 8MP. :) Actually the more I think about it the one with the 1/1.8" sensor and 4MP might be very doable in the same size frame of the DH-PTZ1A225U-IRA-N. That is going by the size of the new bullet models with that set up. They are virtually the size as the 2MP bullet models.

No problem, i'm still a rook and wish someone pointed this out to me a long time ago. Now you'll have most of the info you need to pick out a cameras that suit your needs. then you can go back to the forum postings and scroll thru the 155 pages :)

Here's how you get to that product catalog: Go to the dahua website, click the globe in the upper right corner and make sure you're on the international page , not the north america page. then click on support, download center, brochures, and click the product catalog tab then IP video if you're looking for ip cams. they update it almost quarterly, so look for a new 2020 catalog soon. also there's usually new products on the front page, click the more arrow and it will take you to the entire new product page. last but not least, there's a bunch of dahua youtube channels that release videos about new products, etc. I find it easier to browse that catalog to compare things such as image sensors, etc. there are some new suffixes that i still can't find a breakdown for, there's also starlight plus and more camera categories with more AI cams hitting the market. Hope this helps and happy searching!

That catalog was a great help. I found two cameras that would work for me, however I will wait to see what the new 2020 catalog brings. Here are two and I hope they are in English.

DH-SD5A425XA-HNR and DH-PTZ83440-HNF-WA

By the way I am in the process of ordering this camera from Andy. Just waiting to hear back from him.
Nice ! Once you have them if, you can please post some pictures and videos will be great ! Thank you !!

Will do. I do not know if I want to get one of each or two of one or the other. The price may be the big factor. :) It is going to be a couple of months before I make the purchase as I am right now buying a big ticket PTZ from Andy.

@ Parley Would the PTZ1A225XA-HNR with Starlight+
not work for you?
I already have one and it is in storage after being replaced while doing an upgrade. That one comes with the 1/2.8" sensor and I am looking to improve things by getting a 4MP PTZ with the 1/1.8" sensor.
