Today I ask engineer to make a simple testing @Parley 's monster camera before shipping out, i have to say this camera is the best one we never see before! 20X zoom looks like better than the 40X zoom. Low light can do full color with extremly sharp pic. The only bad thing is too expensive!
Music to my ears Andy. :):):):):) On paper it looks like an excellent low light camera. That is why I bought it.

Lol, i will ask Parley to do this when he gets the camera, that is his toy, i just test it to make sure it's a good working cam before shipping.

Cannot wait for parley to Test this one.. I so wanna see how it performs under dark.. Now hopefully dahua makes more 4/3 sensor in coming future :D Will love to see this even in 45x and 60x .. I might get it at some point My next camera from you andy is definately going to be 4/3 sensor :D

Exactly. I think Dahua should make more cameras available with the 4/3" sensor. The 20X is a little deceiving. You also need to look at the field of view. Also it goes from 16mm to 320mm. Again look at the field of view at the two settings. It appears wider than one would think. Quite the interesting camera. I cannot wait to get it.

The physical aspects are exactly the same as your camera. Just looking at them I doubt that you could tell the difference if they were side by side. The difference is in the optics and of course that huge sensor.

I figured out there is an even higher end model. The SD10A848WAN-HNF.

It appears on the international website but the datasheet lists the NTSC version. Andy says it will take about 45 days to acquire one. A quick summary of improvements I noted are:

48x over 40x: Fov better on both extremes

100,000 shutter speed over 30,000

.001 minimum illumination over .002

zoom priority and smartir ir on/off

max aperture 4.5 not 4.8

Can't wait to see what that 48x will do!
These must be the sort of cameras that are mounted outside casinos? Maybe 20 years ago my friend and i once got busted by security in a car park that was at least 400m from the casino entrance. It was at night, with tinted car windows that were rolled down a few inches and we started to smoke a joint each. The plan was to finish the joint inside the car then walk to the casino. About 3-4 minutes later casino security walked up to our car, knocked on the window and warned us "Dont even think about bringing that sh*t in", and then they walked off.

My friend and I looked at each other in disbelief. We knew casinos had hundreds of cameras inside, but we wondered what sort of cameras they had outside to pick us up in the circumstances above. We kept on saying to each other "Are you serious - How the f**k can they see us??!?!" This wasnt even their carpark we were across the road.

Just got around to putting up this camera. Had it since October last year. I need a good kick in the pants :)
Hey Pinko! Welcome Back! how have you been long time no see. Hope you are doing well. Glad that you finally got a chance to put up the camera. Please share some pics of the installation and the camera itself. I love it so far the auto track is also really really nice :D
