Seems odd because they have been pinching our photos for their adverts and even watermarking them!
That's why you watermark your own lol:cool:

I've never had an issue with Chinese people on ebay or anywhere else opening links. I did have an issue from an ebay seller that I bought a "spy cam" from and they said after a couple weeks that something with customs with spy cameras, that the government was cracking down. This was last year, not sure how true it is but I ordered the same camera from another seller with no issues.

I can't see the Chinese government having any reason to block this forum...What I would imagine the case to be is that some specific security companies may have blocked it on their company network.

The 'Great firewall of China' moves in mysterious ways - with many of our common familiar web resources (especially news sites) permanently blocked, and others blocked as and when it's thought necessary.

In the last 30 days, I have had successful deliveries from Xinray Optic-Electronic Tech and Shenzen Jiangting Technology Co. Took a couple weeks and when is said I wanted 4mm or 6mm lenses on my Hik cams I got what I asked for.

Not sure how my Firewall comment got deleted, but just to sum it up, the china government doesn't like people group together just in case it forms into some sort of anti government mindset.

Anyways, I'm now noticing most sellers are not listing the brand any longer. Just HIK.

Any one know why?

Having the same experience with Benovision aka Security Camera China. Prior to ordering Amy was relatively quick to answer questions. Once ordered no further emails responded to. After a few weeks and just before the timer ran out for the shipping deadline I was given a false tracking number which reset the timer. More emails sent requesting a valid tracking number. Nothing. Seems it's time to open a dispute. Sigh. Will now need to start the while process and waiting period again.
Quoting myself. :)

Just an update. Opened a dispute back when I posted this. Back and forth a few times but eventually received a valid tracking number last week. Was told the item was posted on the Monday but didn't receive the tracking number till the Thursday. That was the day it was also shown as being delivered to the courier. Item arrived today and are as described. 2142-IS. So very slow process and did arrive eventually. Was told the problem was getting the items from Hikvision. No further detail about why it took so long. I'm happy though.

I find this happens alot. Wouldn't it have been easier if they said it's delayed one week to you up front?

Guys my NVR 7808NI arrived from USCAM. Yesterday. Prior two weeks i'd bought 2x 2142 4mp.

Both orders they confirmed in stock and would ship out in days and thats exactly what happened. Responses to questions were quick and patient as i had a lot to weight up the N /NI decision and then to navigate the complexities of AE in increasing the likelihood what you want is what arrives.

John from USCAM i gave 5 stars as he was awesome. DHL and TNT both here to NZ in days.

Is that 7808NI a new model? I am waiting for mine to arrive which is 7608NI from XinRay. Even the price was good, it's taking about a month to ship it.

7808 is Chinese market, so hopefully he meant 7608 ? Although I have heard that 7808 will work.

HIKVision is working to shut down unauthozied retailers on alli, ebay, amazon, etc. Many of them have started to see there supply chain choked out. However - just like everything in China - both legit and knockoff - give it a short period of time (typically a week or two) and they will again be open and operating under another name.

I would highly encourage you to consider a US supplier - there are plenty here that are discussed. You will pay a little premium but you know your getting cameras with an actual warranty and support should you need it - not to mention, you know you'll be able to upgrade the firmware should you want to without worrying about it becoming a brick or ending up in chinese only.

They run a second store, you can find it by going back a bit. The cameras and nvrs on there do change quite often, as in one minute they're there then you look again in a bit and they're gone. Just checked it again now and they have got more cameras up than before so that's a good thing. Look like they're getting back on their feet.

A "little premium"? Every US supplier that I've see sells the same camera that I can get for $80 on Ali, et al. for $2-400. Hardly a "little premium."

You are not looking at the right suppliers. Depending on the camera they can be had for 30-50 dollars more...with warranty and US region....with respect to the 4mp cams, you can get them cheaper in the US than some ali suppliers.

Hum, would love it if someone would actually provide sources rather than just anecdote. Also, I forgot to mention that the US suppliers I've seen may have one or two models but not nearly the lineup that you can get from Ail, et al.
