Took them long enough. The truck did have a club. Got the license plate of the thief's car from my license plate cameras. The camera is my 4K Dahua PTZ with the 4/3" sensor. It makes things look lighter than it actually is. I am not sure if there are two or three people involved. I need to study this more with the car's doors opening and closing. The car has tinted windows so my other cameras could not see inside especially in the dark.

Police would mostly be seeing security video ranging from pre-HD analog to consumer-grade wifi cloud cams. Cams with modern low light capability have only been around for a few years and most commercial installers won't have adapted yet.

I have posted this video on my local Nextdoor site and on a car forum hoping to get more information. Some of these people can get information on the license plate number. The camera is getting rave reviews even though some gag at the price. :) However there are a few who are interested in purchasing one. GO DAHUA GO

The price hurts for sure, but we really need larger sensors, at least some 3/4 or 1" sensors. Can we get away from 1/2 & 1/3" sensors PLEASE!

Great camera, and great captures.

Indeed that PTZ camera is out of most people's price range. One day we'll be able to afford it.. until then:

You can get good image captures with more affordable cameras if you are only watching the front of your house with for example 4MP 1/1.8" cameras. They're more affordable - but if enough neighbors put up just 1-2 4MP 1/1.8" sensor cameras to cover the street in front of their houses we can catch a lot more of the thieves.

Good catch, i post on nextdoor as well and always get camera inquiries, but they usually say the same thing about cost. So now i just say it's a dahua camera and a link to andy's store. I no longer tell them model or cost. They just want to spend over 200 for one ring camera that doesn't show anything.

It doesn't look random, so were they after that specific truck or just that model. Did the club cause them the extra time, I would think if they were after that specific truck they would have cased it previously, known about the club and had a method to deal with it.

As you stated the truck was specifically targeted. I do believe that the Club caused them the extra time. Someone suggest it might have been for the tools it was carrying, but there were no tools or anything else of value in the truck. Now the son is into cars and has his buddies over at the house all the time. I thought as a possibility that one of his friends friends knows who did it. By the way the son did not recognize the car in the video.

Another update this morning. I got a call from the detective on the case about a question she had and I told her I had more video that I posted above and a picture of the car as it sat on the auction block in 2018. She wanted to see it all, so I downloaded it on a USB thumb drive and drove over to the police station and gave it to her. I was going out grocery shopping anyways so it worked out just fine.
